Any day now us lucky STH's should be getting an invoice concerning playoffs for this season and prices for next year. As a rule the email comes right around the trade deadline.

Based on talking to several friends and comments made on the board I think the B's are facing a tremendous number of cancellations. Price increases over the past 6 years have added up and now fans are finding it impossible to sell their tickets on the secondary market for most games.

This has been a brutal season for STH's as in 30 home games the team has lost 18 of them. With all the new contructon around TD Garden parking is harder to find.

I think the team has major problems ahead in keeping STH's happy.

Bruins raised ticket prices last year and they didn't make the playoffs…..luckily they had the Winter Classic to bail them out. This year they better not increase or people will be hitting the road…mediocre team and real crappy home games (including the Winter Classic) have a lot of STH on the fence for sure.

I've been on the wait list for 5 years now, got a call earlier this month that they were opening more season tickets, regardless of renewal this year. Curious if that was a tactic to gauge interest or what their play is here.

I think they know they are taking a hit - they just don't know the magnitude. I just know way too many STH's on the fence and after this year who can blame them. This reminds me of the 2010 season where they struggled at home but were OK on the road.

Knowing the history of the franchise I wouldn't be shocked if they raised ticket prices again since they have a waiting list for Season tickets. They raise prices….current STH leave and they just replace them from the waiting list. If they didn't have a waiting list they may think twice but they are in it to maximize $$$.

You being on the waiting list for 5 years guarantees prices are going up because math.

Yeah. I have been an ST holder since a few months after I relocated home to Boston after college so I haven't lived in the area without being one it will be weird if I drop and I don't want to.

The regular season is extremely boring. I don't follow the NHL outside the Bruins at this point it might be the 4th most appealing pro league to me right now. Im watching a Golden State game over anything non Bruins 10 times out of 10 the NHL doesn't appeal to me. And I like college sports way moer than all of them. THe only thing I like is playoffs. And those are a screwjob for Loge ST holders.

We win a round and I get the joy of my 95 dollar seats costing 150 2nd round so I can't afford to go...great...

My Rep told me that I was in for a "pleasant surprise" .. I'm assuming that means prices will stay the same

I might be out... My $42 tickets are now $64 and that's a price -point that discourages my casual fan friends to decline an invite. It also makes it near impossible to recoup face value for a Monday vs. Columbus or Panters or Flames.

If they went back to the old schedule format where we got more Leafs, Habs, Rags, and Flyers, then I wouldn't have a problem.

I am so glad I got out when I did. After 8 years it felt more like a chore to go to games.

I hope they take it easy on the STH for a change.

FWIW, A friend of mine who is fairly connected has spoken with the head of fan relations and a few reps are recently as last week at a viewing party at Legends and was told they aren't going up..I'll believe it when I see it though. Not getting my hopes up

Last season they did because of the Classic. This year they will because of potential playoffs.

It's going to come a point very soon where the unfortunate STHs will not profit even on weekend afternoon games.

Doesn't much matter. Season ticket holders will still buy. And the single game or a couple games a year folks either do or don't attend...price is already ridiculous, what's a few more bucks gonna do?

Ding ding ding. We have a winner! Sort of.

STHs can't be that unhappy with 2015-6 financially. Maybe they took a hit in 2014-5 because we didn't make it to the playoffs, but IIRC there were quite a few good games late in the year, and we had a legit playoff push towards the end.

This year was good for STHs - but NOT because of the 43 games played at the Garden, but rather because of the 1 game played in Gillette. If you shelled out the extra money, you got to go to a game at prices that were probably lower than you could get on StubHub. If you didn't want to go, you could probably sell your tickets for a profit.

I understand if you can't take that option because you don't want to shell out the money or if you can't get the cash together to do so, but the WC was a pretty good deal. It's like getting a playoff game guaranteed....although it does take away one Habs home game.

But as far as next year, I think prices will be steady. I remember vividly in the 2014-5 season, my rep said "there won't be many tickets under $100 from the Bruins after the new year" - and he was right. This year, you can buy direct tickets for as low as $59 plus $11 fee for last night's game - and that's not counting secondary markets.

I don't think too many people are optimistic about the 2016 playoffs or the 2016-7 season, and I think the B's really want to keep pushing that sellout streak...so, they probably won't pump prices up.

As a long time STH in Hartford, seeing the word profit in the same sentence as STH makes no sense.

That's how I felt my last year as a STH. Last year of the Garden with a classic Sinden/Jacobs mediocre team and prices went up 20%, the people that I sat next to for years told me the first year of the vault they went up even more and they had to move their seats to another price level to be able to afford them.

JJ understand one thing and one thing only, money. If he can gouge fans he will, Bruins fans have traditionally only stopped going in great number when the team is truly awful and has been for years (Mike O'Connell's regime) or when an icon leaves.

They will increase tickets next year and will do so until people stop going again.

BTW who was the one delusional person who voted they would lower prices?

That'd be pretty awesome if prices were kept the same :dunno:

Why WOULDN'T the Bruins raise ticket prices? They sell out every game! It would be financially irresponsible for them to keep them the same price.

People complain about the high ticket prices are the same ones buying them year after year. You don't like the ticket price? Speak with your wallet.

Are they really selling out every game? I get the "There's still tickets available for tonight's game" emails for every home game and there are a lot of empty seats visible from inside the Garden as well as on TV.

I agree...I get STH emails weekly about securing tickets for most of the games. They had a bunch available vs LA which to me looked one of the few hot tickets...strong western team with lot of big names and Lucic coming back...I'd say most nights it looks like 06-07/early 07-08..not huge blocks of empty gold seats but enough that its noticeable...Neely said they gauge their prices from secondary markets and for the most part its been soft from what ive seen and from what friends tell me....I think the sellout streak could be a bit fabricated like the Sox one was...
