Borgen f***ing blows bro. He’s literally, a bigger and quicker Lindgren. No puck skills. I guess he’s fine as a third pairing guy with Jones? I think my issue isn’t necessarily the player, but rather seeing pizza bitch go full potato right before Xmas with this being the main return for Kakko.
Maybe Drury is preparing for his next move?

What bugs me the most about this isn't really even the value of the return (all things considered, its probably going to end up playing out fair) or that they have been after this guy for a while (the hysteria there is hilarious, he HAS been good in this league) but it's really doubling down on the "tuffness, need to be harder to play against" mindset on D while completely neglecting any semblance of puck moving while taking a shot on this guy who is in the midst of an awful year (I haven't watched much of Seattle, just re-iterating what has been re posted a billion times here.)

On that end, I have no doubt that theres probably still a player there. This probably isn't a Lindgren situation where the skills are in heavy decline. I just don't know if this is the staff/situation to draw it back out of him and he certainly isn't the style of player they need back there.

Best case scenario is that he is able to clear his head with a new start, catch lightning in a bottle for a few months and gets flipped for a decent return in March. Guys who are big, tough and mobile will always fetch something and if he's trending upwards we'll probably do pretty well there. If he knocks the piss out of a Devil or 5 along the way then awesome.

I mean I’m doubtful they were bringing back any type of competent puck moving defenseman in this deal. Take the best player you can get. Maybe he plays here awhile. Maybe he gets dealt for another asset.
