Will Borgen

The plan should be to trade Schneider since he isn't any good yet still has that reputation from being a 1st round pick, physical, and making the NHL quickly.

Is there a law against having 3 good right d-men? Borgen and Schneider aren’t going to break the bank. Fox’s contract is going to get better as time moves on with the cap increasing. Just keep all 3. This isn’t a scenario where Fox and Trouba are taking up $17.5m. Honestly, the three players, Fox, Borden and Schneider are likely to not make that collectively and the cap is set to increase substantially

It’s just a matter of opportunity cost, Schneider is worth more as a trade chip than a 3rd pairing defenseman, also he hasn’t proven he’s good yet. If you could trade him for a good young forward or a top or 2nd pairing defenseman LD I don’t know how that isn’t a consideration.

i could see Borgen getting 4x5mm, and Schneider getting 6x4.5 after next year. those numbers seem conservative, not crazy, and that's not nothing.
