So how come when the Atlanta Braves were still winning their division every year why did they not sell out their games at Turner Field despite being a winning team? One reason I heard is the fans were sick of just winning the NL East and not having more than 1 World Series title.

Makes sense, those people were probably taking a wait and see approach to buying tickets and were saving their money for the later rounds should the Braves have gotten there.

I'd be cool with an AHL team. I maintain that the Infinite Energy Center is the perfect size in terms of capacity for AHL hockey, if hypothetical Atlanta AHL team hooked up with Nashville then that would be even better.

I believe Nashville has had more success in Milwaukee, what would make them attractive to switch to a hypothetical Atlanta franchise, whether it's the Gladiators, or a new franchise, the only thing connecting the Gladiators now is a marketing agreement, and it's Gwinnett, not metro Atlanta.

Gwinnett is part of the Metro-ATL area.

Gladiators could simply move up to AHL.

WHAT affiliation is open/Expiring, BK, for Atlanta (Gwinnett) to simply attempt that, even if they wanted to.... The AHL requires an affiliation before transferring a license from one league to the other, the ECHL slowly is transitioning to that model, but doesn't require it upon granting a franchise....

see Colorado as the example for that with the Eagles, Charlotte's done that as well, when Carolina bought the license off Walter Robb and his ownership entity in Albany

RIGHT, BUT Nashville has a long-standing agreement with the Admirals.
He zigs, and you zag, HUTCH. Keep on being you.

Ideally, Nashville partners up with them, Milwaukee with Wild.

EXCEPT Minnesota owns its affiliate, BK, in Iowa, the Timberwolves just did the same thing with the other tenant in Des Moines buying the Energy and renaming them the Wolves..... remember Houston, the Alexander lease, that was the same franchise now under full Wild control instead of the 80/20 SPLIT WITH Chuck Watson, and why Watson had license to the Aeros trademark until he was bought out, when Alexander raised the lease terms at Toyota Center.

Didn't realize that.

yea, a lot of teams went that route, and made it harder for those "independent" owners, as some of them when it came time when couldn't sustain the finances sold to either another owner ( as Portland did in 2015/16, after Arizona bought Springfield's franchise that was created off the relocation of the Indians to Worcester, and the bylaw that stated only one owner couldn't operate or have majority interest in another in the same league... the Ice Cats are now Utica) or they bought a franchise license off an existing owner, (Charlotte/Norfolk/Colorado) Even being owned by an NHL Club doesn't work out, as Manchester and Worcester found out after that same season, even though Manchester avoided the distraction by exiting on a championship, then found out they couldn't defend said title

btw, Nashville already is serving Atlanta, as the the secondary affiliation, after walking away from Norfolk earlier this year when their liason was fired by the Admirals franchise in VA...

I think Atlanta/Gwinnett makes a lot of sense as a Predators affiliate. It grows their fanbase. Atlanta gets to be part of a quality organization. Milwaukee would be a good affiliate for St. Louis, on the doorstep of the Hawks. Maybe grow their brand a little.

PART OF THAT post likely is reality, NSH/ATL..... Milwaukee is Nashville's AHL Affiliate, though.... the Blues are solely an affiliate franchise and their only option is San Antonio.

Not impossible, not a priority.

After Seattle, the next option to extend should naturally be Quebec

And personally, I’d like to see San Diego considered at some point. No basketball no football. Anaheim is far away enough to be a separate market.

except Anaheim controls the hockey tenant in San Diego

The Gulls have 2 years left on a lease in Valley View - a really old non NHL suitable arena. A new arena may be on the way in San Diego. Any modern arena owner with half a brain will have a clause prioritising an NHL team. So Anaheim like all NHL teams have very little control over NHL expansion to their minor league markets. Minor league affiliates are highly mobile and teams would rather have expansion money, and the hopes of a better US tv contract that worry about holding on to a minor league market.

The strange irony is the only reason the Predators affiliation is with Milwaukee is that Liepold owned the Predators and is from Wisconsin. He now owns Minnesota and yet the Predators AHL team is still in his territory. I don’t think the Predators want to move their affiliation anywhere and like the way the Admirals are run and develop players.

No one cares about hockey in that area.. tickets were dirt cheap and still no one shows up.. Carolina, Florida and Arizona need to be moved

Carolina is going no where.... Arizona has an open ended deal as long AEG isn't booted there and Florida has a lease that simply cannot be broken without financial penalty
