AHL: Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins: '24-'25 The Players Sully Hates

Also having seen that Jarry is back up and Blomqvist is back down -

The tank is in and part of it is keeping talent away from the mess. Don't expect them to give long looks to many guys.

Yeah wouldn’t shock me to see them keep Jarry up especially given Sullivan’s hesitation to play Blommer.

Jarry is up so that Blomqvist can keep playing during the Four Nations tournament.

Jarry is also up so that the Pens can continue to maximize cap space while not having a full 23 man roster during the tournament.

I would be surprised to see Jarry stay up in the NHL after the tournament is over.

i would think the new guy (vlad) would be sent to wbs to get into game shape since he hasn't played in awhile.
It would have to be a brief conditioning stint. Otherwise, he'd have to go back on waivers and Utah might take him back.

I'd forgotten about the 4N.

But I still wouldn't be surprised if Blomqvist stays back down. It's a classic move for a rebuilding team to keep all the good young players away from the train wreck (and also prevent them from rescuing a better pick)

Id rather he did. He didn’t play very much or very well.

but what do they do with the second goalie slot?

I do not think Jarry is playing another NHL game here.

I'd showcase Larsson. He'll be 27 soon. And with the stats Murashov is throwing up in the A, I don't know how you take time from him. Quite the conundrum.

Agree on Larsson - except he’s hurt.

And I’d like to move Ned! Lol. Absolute pileup at that position.
Yeah, between Ned heating up and the goalie logjam, dude probably shouldn't make it past the TDL as a Penguin. But I have a feeling they don't want to play Jarry if they don't have to, and they're not willing to just throw Blomqvist into the starter's role yet.

what would be so wrong in playing jarry? it's not like they are going anywhere. :dunno:

Personally I just plain don't want to see him ever wear the pens sweater again. Dude is a loser and he doesn't need to be part of the next core and kill their confidence either. Don't want any chance of him wiggling back into the good graces somehow. The ship has sailed on his time here.

Blomqvist just hasn’t been very good this season in the AHL or NHL. I don’t think he has been given enough starts.

He's made 23 appearances at the AHL/NHL level this year after 47 regular season/postseason starts last year. It's a lighter load, but the Pens also have a deeper roster of goalies this year. Murashov is over and Larsson is better than Hellberg. Blomqvist is fine. He's being forced to adjust now that there are actual scouting reports on him.

Holy shit WBS ties it up 5-5 after 2 goals scored with the goalie pulled

Edit: Might get waved off for a high stick

Yep, no goal. Tough break for Katchouk but a valiant effort.
