Mcgroarty is on pace for around the same season that 20 year old Sam Poulin had in the AHL.

Not great but I'm trying to be patient and hope that he figures it out.

Thing is - and I have no idea how this impacts PP time, which would affect how I feel about the whole thing hugely - Poulin was the second highest scoring player on WBS with that. McGroarty is 10th. McGroarty has the support (albeit maybe not the spotlight) that Poulin didn't.

I'm hoping that when they get some more D back in the lineup, everyone's scoring ticks back up as it feels like he was pacing for far more not that long ago.

I think you obviously want guys to produce at lower levels, and in the AHL, but with McG I think he's gonna be a third wheel on a scoring line type of guy, so production isn't the entire story.

The bigger issue is that he's just kind of a floating piece right now. There's no scoring line of the future for him to be a part of and grow with atm. /shrug

Also, really liking the play and chemistry from guys like Broz, McG, and Koivunen. They always all seem to be involved when one of them scores. Nice to see.

I also think that looking at Pickering’s lack of production I’m even less concerned. Yeah he’s a d-man but he’s put up more points in the NHL than he did in the AHL. If they’re just getting McGroarty, and others, prepared for the NHL that’s good enough for me.

He also has a 7% shooting percentage. That’s not sustainable. Pucks are gonna start going in.

Broz from Koi & McG
Only goal. Larsson with the shutout.

I think it'd be helpful for WBS to get some experience back on D to give the team some stability and let the young forwards continue to develop. A deep playoff run for Broz, Koivunen, McGroarty, Blomqvist, and even more experienced guys like Ponomarev and Poulin would be beneficial for their long-term development.
