Would it really be the wrong decision to send down Blomqvist at this point?
If he stays up, he's on a bad team with bad defense giving up tons of chances constantly, and, since this has been the case so far, he's playing backup rather than the starter (even though he's clearly outperformed the other two goalies).

In contrast, if he gets sent down to WB/S, he's the uncontested #1, and he's playing behind a team that's doing a lot better.

I'm not saying he doesn't deserve to play in the NHL, but I'm not sure it would be all that great for his development to be under siege every night, on the rare times he actually gets to play.

Thats how Fleurys career started but yes it can hurt young goalies

Kind of peculiar that Rochester’s assistant is Vaclav Prospal, who has no connection to Rochester or the Sabres in his playing career.

I mean it’s fine and cool but usually a guy like that, that earned a good chunk of money as a player, doesn’t get into coaching in the minors.

Looks like he’s been all over actually.. coaching kids in Florida, then some stuff with the Czech National Team, then in Ceske Budejovice. Probably just has his sights set on an NHL gig.
