Because using players like Ott and Drew Miller is better than playing Frk and Pulkkinen :shakehead

Holland is a mess.

Holland IS a mess, but not because he's playing Miller and Ott on the 4th line instead of Frk and Pulkkinen. Both of Frk and Pulkkinen would blow in a 4th line role (Pulkkinen has already shown that).

Instead, he shouldn't have gone out and signed a bunch of dead weight for his top 9 year after year like Modano, Richards, and Cleary, so that the Griffins didn't get backlogged, and the Frks and Pulkkinens of the organization got a legitimate 3rd line chance for a spell before being out of waiver options.

Wow a lot people here hanging on this guy's AHL performance almost 2 years back

There's a reason he couldn't stick with the Wings after his AHL slaughtering. As mentioned above, he's small but can generate a wicked amount of torque on his shot... when he isn't shooting from bad angles. That's about it. Not much of a loss at all for Detroit if someone claims him.

Did they not just resign him? Must have been a really bad camp...

He did have a really bad camp and he was coming off of a major injury. Still, he can be an asset for a team that has low expectations for this season, particularly in a 3rd line role.

Yeah, I think griffith due to the london connection might make more sense.

this is what happens when your good at developing 3rd liners not a big deal. now if holland would get off the crack pipe the wings could have aa replacing helm and burt and callahan replacing miller and ott. saves money and brings a ton of energy to the team.

He still has 0.3PPG from a 4th line role, without bleeding defensively :dunno:. I think Florida could use his shot on the PP and keep him as a bottom sixer unless he manages to hit new heights with better centers.

EDIT2:

5vs5 stats
1.07 P/60
60 GF%,
60 FF%

Heavy OZS% usage, so Zone Start adjusted 5v5 stats:
57.1 GF%
57.5 FF%
