I remember wings fans bash on Filppula when they let him walk and signed Weiss for the money that Filppula asked. Kind of similar bashing here now on Pulkkinen. Oh well. :)

Filp actually performed in the NHL. Pulk hasn't. Not even slightly comparable. And the Weiss signing is completely non-sequitur in either case.

Happy for Pulk, I hope he goes on to a long NHL career in Minnesota.

In 82 games he can score 15-20 no doubt. But that's all the positives he's going to do. He won't win board battles, he won't get takeaways, he won't block shots, he won't be physical, he won't bring anything except goals and turnovers. He does more harm than good is what I'm getting at.

ya he didnt have a spot on detriots team for sure, mantha, aa, burt and svechnikov have all easily past him. mn has 3 solid lines then rookies or ahlers so maybe they can find a use for him. still think they need pkers much more than a rocket shot that does nothing else but who knows

Boudreau definitely knows how to utilize a guy like Pulkkinen: Must be going straight to the OV spot on the PP.

While happy the Leafs got Griffins, I'm a little jelly of this.

What's up with Detroit though - between this and Mantha being demoted, somethings amiss with their scouting or development as of late

I dunno, I've yet to see much of either. I suspect that Dalpe is a more boring, but more well rounded, player.

Maybe Boudreau will get him to hit the net from that spot, Babs and Blash couldn't.

He was passed up by AA, Mantha, Svech, and Lil Bert. Jurco is still gonna come back and another waive/AA being sent down will have to happen - barring injury.

To answer the mantha question, We signed three forwards in the offseason, aa is above him in the pecking order. If I had to venture a guess, mantha will be on the team permanently at some point this season unless he's passed by svechnikov, but mantha got 1st call up for the top9.

Our team has been historically fragile in the past, so Ken holland signs stupid amounts of depth that way injuries don't completely screw us over.

Two years ago, at one point, Joakim Andersson was our first line center. I think he's still a little shell shocked after that.

Roster turnover isn't about keeping 3 lines of 3rd liners though...

If kh can build, or at least help set in motion a retool before he retires that keeps the wings in the playoffs until they win another cup(within the next decade) then he will go down as one of, if not the best gm of all time.

He's playing it safe, sure, but he's not neglecting the prospect pool. Give it some time man, at least the wings don't have to go through another dead wings era.

You never know how scorched earth rebuilds will go.

Not upset by this. At worst he's what, Fontaine? Carter? Porter? We didn't give up anything for this. I'm sure his inclusion will be devastating though.
