Heidt with a goal...cleaned up a rebound. His superpower is definitely his passing. Nothing fancy, but he moves the puck quickly and accurately. A bit of a pest, also.

Peart looks good, as does Lambos, and Masters was ok. Bankier ... just sort of there.

If Leskovar can play just decent D then he might have a job on an NHL bottom pairing in a few years. Size, and likes to hit.
I reverse with you on Bankier and Lambos. I like the size of Bankier and he's moving quite well. For me Lambos is kind of just there. He playing at a slower pace than I would like for a guy who's been to 4 development camps and a full year of AHL. I still like him as a prospect but want a bit more from eye yes.

But yes, its only 1 period heh. We all miss hockey.

Spellacy is noticeable for the Hawks. I like Dach, but I've always liked him.

Want to see more from Haight... they aren't playing him with Heidt, like last year, are they? Shame, if not.

We are taking WAY too many penalties.

Both GA's on PP. No chance for goalie.

I'm a little dumbfounded on the lines. Topo should be with Bankier and Heidt/Haight should be together.

Is it me or has Ritchie not been playing this period? Saw him 1st period but don't think I have seen him this period. Could be all the special teams.

I saw him, for sure. Made on really nice pass to set up Topo all alone. Ended up the period on the ice at the end of the period. He's got some height to him, but needs to fill out more than most. Will be interesting to see how he plays next year in the WHL if he can stay healthy.

Liking Peart a lot, especially in this third, Leskovar standing out too.

3-2 Chicago now on a squeaker through the fivehole on McClellan. Didn't mind the play by Leskovar much.
Agreed. Peart has made the best passes, good positioning, etc.

Leskovar has been a huge positive - had no expectations. Mobility, shots on net, and several good defensive plays.

The guys below are the ones that stood out to me as obvious Training Camp candidates, mostly in order of performance. Lots of guys played well in spurts, but the ones below had the consistency and confidence to deserve more looks with the big guys.

Heidt, Bankier, Haight, Toporowski.

Peart, Lambos.

Hlavaj

Masters, Spacek, Parker all left me with mixed feelings, hope for better games tomorrow to join the above pack. Leskovar was great but needs more time.
