Fair point on the AHL veterans.I also think they haven't really grabbed any good AHL veterans. Petan being probably the best off the top of my head. But the issue is why the CHL prospects aren't translating well or why they keep picking these guys that aren't translating well? Dewar changed his game, Duhaime did well, Shaw is okay but injured. My biggest hope is Haight and Heidt change that (along with Kumps).
As for the "raw materials" question I think drafting is just hard, especially when we're talking about CHLer's taken in the 3rd round or later. Hopefully one or two of the 2021-23 guys bucks the trend.
