Post-Game Talk: Wild 1 Bruins 0

I am not angry, but saying they should keep Monty when he clearly checked out on them is not really adding much.He wanted St Louis. As for Bruce ,I am on record not liking firing him. That was because some players did not like his tactics .He was forced out so nothing could save him. When the players don't want you there nowadays u are a goner.Anyhow ,you also mentioned nothing other teams would want .The Bruins have a few players they are taking calls on that could help both sides. It will be all over this week far as trade deadlines goes, thankfully

CASSIDY, not Monty!!!

Winnable game for the Bruins, two teams decimated by injuries. Top line was due for an off game and of course, no one else picked up the slack. Swayman got his GAA down to under 3.00 but still leads the league in goals allowed. Didn't allow an empty net goal, but more credit to the Wild for that one.

I don't think anyone would blame Pasta if he did decide to ask out. His best years are being wasted. Anyone who doubts he wants to win hasn't been watching him put this team on his back all season long.
Exactly, he's going to get tired with all of the weight on his back and probably not get another chance at a Cup. He'll be 29 in May and while that isn't old, it's an age period that a person starts looking in the mirror and wondering if they'll reach their life goals.
In hockey there's even more urgency since it's so hard to win and the possibility of injuries ruining remaining seasons.

First, the players on this team showed up to camp unprepared for the season. It's Only a guess but back to back summers of weddings, European travel, partying, and not enough off - season training may have caught up to them this year. Off-season training is more than just conditioning, it is a mind set, a singular focus on what has to be done to be ready for the next season. Too many players were lacking.

Secondly, Sweeney dropped ball. He even stated at the beginning of the year that the team was not a finished product, that there were areas they needed to address. The lack of offense depth falls completely on Sweeney. He has done almost nothing to address the need for offensive help.

Top consistent offensive forward threats on this team are Pastrnak and aging Marchand, with Pastrnak carrying this team. After that there is a significant drop to Geekie and Zacha. And more of a drop to Lindholm. After that there isn't much. This falls on Sweeney. Losing six of the last seven games by one goal is frustrating. We have known for months this team needed offensive help and Sweeney for whatever reason refused to address the need. So here we are.

Shouldn't be too surprised by lack of moves though. Swayman's contract handcuffed the team cap wise from making moves of addition. But maybe a shuffling of the some under performing players for some new ones might have helped, but we will never know.

Move the deadwood at the trade deadline gather some new assets, and if the right opportunity is there get rid of anyone who is just going through the motions and doesn't show any urgency or desire. Sweeney likes to build his team in the summer and usually tweak at the deadline, so some of the bigger trades may wait until then. There are exceptions, but Sweeney is still somewhat handcuffed. We have five days to get some answers.
"Move the deadwood at the trade deadline"
Okay but that only leaves 2 1/2 players left lol.

Hey bro, he said "they should've kept Cassidy" Not that slug Montgomery.

Well, they had to give the money to a good goaltender, oh that's right they don't have that either.
I missed much of the game, but Swayman wasn't the reason for the loss if he allows only one goal

How did Coyle look? ..was he floating around all game, but accomplishing nothing?? ..again

People keep harping on Swayman's big contract (and rightfully so) and how he's not earning it ...but at least he does have the odd good game

What has Coyle done to earn his $5.25 mil/yr contract this season??

You cannot help it if managements f**ks up and completely botched the contract signings. The players are not going to turn down the ridiculous offers and cudos to them for sucking in the Bruins brass.

Time for change at the top.

I'd happily drive management to the airport first, over packing Pasta up and out.
