Why is Jumbo in the lineup

Because he's FA signee

I love Joe. I still think he can be big part of this team but he's 42

You have to limit ice

Never understood why pointing out liabilities on the team is "complaining".

there is pointing things out and there is relentless dumb complaining game after game expecting players to be perfect and do things they cant do and weren't brought here to do ... when Joe was signed for 700k, were you expecting a PPG player?

Which posts specifically in this thread are "dumb complaining after a game"?

He may play one more year next year to get some records (if he doesn't already pass them this year) and go along for another Cup, but I doubt he will be a full time player on our team if he comes back here. Might be able to be a 13th forward who rotates with Joey Anderson or something.

Wouldn't be too bad to have him as a 13th forward.

i thought you were just talking in general and I responded to that ....

in your opinion why do you think Dubas signed Thornton and what do you think Dubas expected from him?

Was going to ask how Jumbo has looked this season since I haven’t been able to catch the Leafs this season. You guys answered it though. Sucks to hear. He’s never been fast but after those two knee injuries he’s been a lot slower and noticeably easier to knock off the puck.

Hope you guys get him a cup though so he can finally ride off into the sunset. Good luck the rest of the year.

joe is on a very quick line/team so he looks a bit out of place

Maybe he can find another gear in the playoffs once the game becomes extremely physical. He will bring some grit that he isnt bringing right now potentially.

I don’t see any way he’s back next season. It’s already starting to become problematic, so why would be continue that?

Hoping he shows his value in the playoffs.

He can still contribute off ice that we can’t see.

Very much prefer him to Marleau....

He was excellent not too long back, it's not unsurprising for him to have some peaks and troughs at this point in his career.

I said it to my father before I saw the first game of the season 'he is going to be too slow for the young guns!' well... the first number of games at the start of the season, proved me, as well as most of you wrong as well!..... then he got that rib fracture. ... ever since he has come back.... wow..yeah.... I will give him a few more games, but I feel as though he is not fit for this team, even being demoted big time...... St. Thomas guy currently living here... don't get me wrong, love the guy!

I kind of like our 4th line.. every 5 or so games they go off like they were in their 20's again. Mainly Spezza with his shooting still but as a line they don't cost us much on or off the ice and are probably fun to play with.

It's part of a seniors reach out program, where senior citizens skate with their favorite Leafs a couple of times a week... the guy may be great in the locker room but man the game has passed him by. Sometimes you just gotta know when its time to move on. Compare him to Spezza, Spezza looks like he could play a couple of more years on the 4th line. Jumbo looks like he should be eating puree vegetables and talkin' about them good ole days..
