2019 was written in the stars, in fact when some of you people were celebrating that big multi goal G6 win in STL I was sitting back grinning because I knew at that point the Blues were winning the Cup. Their PO road record was 9-3 headed into G7 and they responded with a win after a really bad loss like G6 on previous occasions during that run. The tendencies were already there you just had to see the pattern to know what was coming next.

Interested to see how things go for them the next couple years. Marchand aging, lack of consistent scoring depth, not a great prospect pool, but the internal culture leads to wins and playoff berths. But the lack of getting to the Conference Final since 2019 has resulted in many continuing to call them a paper tiger.

Swayman is a beast, that masks issues. He's so fun to watch.

I think they had a good competitive core, good luck with drafting, coupled with great coaching and player buy-in. But you can tell now that it’s only going to take them so far. Sort of like the Lightning, they’re on the downswing. But their team culture is great and they’ll continue to compete for the playoffs until they don’t.

Good goaltending, leadership and a weak Atlantic where they really only have one legit opponent in any particular year. They’re always in the mix , but should have had a lot more success with Chara and Bergeron.

2 main reasons, they build from the net out and they don't overpay in FA. So while they lack a gamebreaker at times they also don't handcuff themselves to an albatross contract.

Granted it's easier when you get a ridiculous steal like Pastrnak at 25th OA

If you told me the Bruins 5 years from now were a top 5 team or a bottom 5 team, I wouldn't be surprised either way. These next few years will be a journey for sure.

Poitras, Lysell, and Letourneau will be big in determining that. Knowing the Bruins, Lysell won't be anything special but they'll pull something out of their ass & Ryan Walsh or Jonathan Morello becomes a stud somehow.

When we officially signed Brazeau back in March, I didn't even know who he was and I follow this team pretty closely

They have a pretty good young center in Poitras who was mashed up after about a month who looked bigger and faster at recent DC (I went to 3 of 4 days)

I admire that the Bs realize they are in a highly competitive market for fan interest and dollars. The Celtics, major college hockey, Pats all generating interest. They realize they need to put a competitive product on the ice, don’t overvalue futures at the expense of the current roster, and are willing to make moves that have an immediate and short term impact. They realize the roster cycle is shorter than most believe and don’t wait on hopefuls too long. I think they will be competitive for as long as they stick to that model. Plus they are an original 6 in a great hockey city and can get FAs to come there and aren’t worried about being on NTC lists.

Red Sox are about to get back to a hot ticket ~ they are flawed but good now and their prospects is deep. They are going to be putting pinball numbers up soon - they need pitching but if you like characters and offense they will have them

Add in the ball park, bars & restaurants around, college kids & hardcore fans it’s going on to be like 70’s

the Bruins got a lot going for them and having a shallow prospect pool is a concern but then they look like they got a potential home run in Lohrei

Bruins have cap space and it’s all about top 6 and if Lysell and or Poiteas hit it’s basically kumbaya or as Sonny & Cher sung ‘the beat goes on’

It is annoying. My son has seen nothing but championships his whole life. I was watching Rod Rust teams and Buckner booting the world series. Larry Bird was the only light in those dark times.
