Why does Adam Gaudette lead the Senators in goals?

This is the last time I pick the Senators to make the playoffs. I try and f***ing believe in them every time but that team is just rotten. And Gaudette just found the right fit.

33 shots and 12 goals, not sure I have seen a stat line like that. Have they all been crease area goals or something?

A lot of them yes.

It's a cliche but he's keeping his stick on the ice. Going to the net, looking for loose pucks and generally knowing where to be. He has a real finisher mentality about it right now.

10:46 TOI per game, 33 shots, 36.4 SH%.

Wouldn't be surprised if he's already scored half his goals for the season.

He's got a very good shot and knows where to put himself on the ice to get good scoring opportunities, while not having a reputation for being that kind of player so teams are probably not defending him as closely as other goal scorers around the league usually are.

Then he got put on Stutzle's line and he's been a great player for Stutzle to score goals off of.

He's been playing on the 4th line for most of the season but recently has been moved up to the 1st line with Stutzle for 4 or 5 games now, and he hasn't looked out of place there, he has decent chemistry with Stutzle. so his TOI and shots will be going up, but the SH% will be going down.

Sure, but in the NHL he plays roughly 10 minutes per game and just a little on the power play.

I don't think anyone expected him to lead the Senators in goals a quarter into the season, with the likes of Stutzle and Tkachuk on the team playing twice as much.

His shooting percentage is through the roof, though, so it is what it is.
His comment went right over your head buddy.

The Sens are an AHL team.
