GDT: Why do we have another game today?

Thing is, so many of the recent losses have been in overtime. It sucks to watch, but it also means that they have generated points. Almost every team in hockey slumps at some point, so the Canes still getting points during one of them isn't inconsequential. We just need another winning streak. I hope this starts one up.

Sad thing is I remember us doing something like that around 2012-2013 and we were legit excited.

Of course we were excited. We we’re getting ready to lock in Alexander Semin, the sniper who anchored the best line in the NHL, to join perennial 40-goal threat Jeff Skinner… we had our long term #1D in Jamie McBain… we’d penciled in our future 3C, Jeremy Welsh, to compliment reliable 2C Jordan Staal… the 4th line was anchored by noted PK specialist Tim Brent, and the intimidating Kevin Westgarth would keep other teams honest… add in a youth movement with top prospects like Zac Dalpe, Zac Boychuk, and recent top pick Ryan Murphy, and the sky was the limit.

Man, those was the times. I liked that group.
