Hamilton would be a better choice than Quebec City, better chance of success for sure. I remember going to see the Oilers vs Nords in Quebec City during the Oiler's hay day and it was half empty,

I personally think the NHL stretched itself as far as it was willing to go with the Jets moving back to Canada.

They NHL wouldn't want Quebec and Winnipeg in the league in this econmic enviroment.
it was pointed out to me once a long time ago that 1/2 the season ticket holders in Buffalo live in Hamilton. With a team in Hamilton, there's no Buffalo.

Yep, all USD.

And yeah, I knew the expansion teams were doing pretty well, but Vegas being that high? I wouldn't have believed it myself. (Some vindictive part of me still doesn't want to... ;) )

LOL. Vegas has three unusual financial advantages:

(1) Casinos buying up large blocs of prime-location season tickets for availability of tickets to their suckers high rollers;

(2) Typically much higher attendance by opposing fans who make the game a weekend junket; and

(3) Casual tourists who are not hockey fans at all but treat it like another Strip show (and who seem particularly susceptible to expensive merch as souvenirs --- there are probably 10,000 Chinese running around in Shanghai in their Marchessault jerseys).

Then of course the VGK is hugely popular among the locals.
