Dell was reportedly outstanding. Fagemo 37 goals in 42 games is just unheard of at this level. Reign are neck and neck with the Roadrunners. Big win.
Being that he models his game after Arvidsson, Fagemo could slot right into 3rd line winger and power play sniper specialist. Both righties, so that matches. Maybe not the playmaker Arvidsson is, but it makes sense.Maybe Fagemo playing in Nashville's system got him to be more open to what the coaches are telling him. ( the change of scenery effect). With his AHL play this year, he won't pass thru waivers next year, but where does he fit in LA? He's not a 4th liner.
Erik Portillo think he gets a shot at the nhl next year? To be a back up, Seems based on numbers hes been great
I would say it is unlikely, but possible. In all likeliness, the Kings are going to be looking for a goaltender in the offseason, or do what they did this year and sign a stopgap or two, or re-sign Talbot or Rittich to another one-year deal depending on how the season plays out.Erik Portillo think he gets a shot at the nhl next year? If I had to bet, the Kings are going to have a new starter and stopgap backup next year and Portillo will be given the opportunity to take over Ontario, and if he kills it there then he could find himself as the backup or in a duel for the top spot the following year.
It would be great if he can make the team next year. I was surprised how unpolished his game was before the season but if he can make the next step that would be huge for the team. A big body in net that you can depend on for 10 years is not an easy find.I understand the apprehension with the Kings recent record on giving younger goalies the crease, but unless they see a fundamental flaw in Portillo's game, I suspect he'll get every opportunity to win and NHL job next year. He's no spring chicken, turning 24 just before training camp due to his years in the NCAA, he's only been pulled once in 32 starts in the AHL in his rookie season, has played more games this year than Dell, Ingham and Rittich combined in the AHL, is 5th in the league in GAA and 2nd in the league in SV%. He's proved his ability, time for the Kings to see if this 6'6" netminder is their long-term NHL minder in the crease.
Never doubt the greatest that is OUR very own LA Kings GM -- Mr. Rob Blake. We're lucky to have him. He knows more than all of us....combined (except for GBH of course)It would be great if he can make the team next year. If the Kings delude themselves into thinking they’re contenders again next year then they will have gone out and gotten a starter, stopgap backup, and journeyman vet with NHL experience who can plug and play in case of an injury. That guy playing the Rittich/Copley/Sparks/Grosenick role will need to get lots of games to stay sharp so Portillo will likely be relegated to another year of platoon backup status in the AHL.I would say it is unlikely, but possible.
