It's a bit of an exaggeration because I like to rag on Moose for being a gentle giant. I do think that Reschny has that combination of tenacity, motor and positioning element to make him play a lot bigger than he is. It's also sort of meant to be demonstrative of the fact that just because you draft a 6'5 player, doesn't mean you're getting a physical force.

So the comparison I see is a little bit like a combination of Braden Point and Lucas Raymond's worst qualities. Gamer mentality in a smaller, smart, skilled package like both of them. Not as fast as Point, or as creative and skilled as Raymond.
Assuming the health checks out (which I admit is a big assumption) I think you can get both a more offensively gifted and more physical player in Bear (with maybe a hair more size). I assign no value to Reschny as a center because he won't land there in the pro game. The scale favors Bear in my judgment (provided you are comfortable with the health).

What happened to all of our d prospect core?

Tuomisto
Johanssen
Viro
Wallinder
Cleveland
Etc

All these guys suck? If we NEED to draft a defenseman that means none of these guys are anything?

Hmm... Viro did never really pan out. I think they expected him to grow more. Still a small guy with no special role, or skill.

Tuomisto was big, but they probably hoped different kind of development. Has been really slow development for him. Think he'll have a great career at Europe.

Cleveland was just a stupid pick.

Anton Johansson - looking good so far. Be patient, kid is only 20 and nothing else than praise so far.

Wallinder - still big believer on him, he is as "hidden" with his development as Albert Johanssaon was some seasons ago, and look what happened at NHL side. The talent is there, I love his skating for a big guy.

19 year old Hronek have similar numbers as 20 years old Danielson in GR.
They all have potential no higher than third pair, Same as Cleveland

If Bear gets the green light medically I would probably have him as the highest guy here.

Still a decent sized asterisk for me though.
I think this is kinda where I'm at too. Bear without the injury, I don't think were talking about him being available at all. Just depends on medicals. I voted Aitcheson because of the achilles but it could go either way.
Torn Achilles isn’t really a big deal anymore so I doubt the injury holds back Bear at all. That said, I’m not sure if he can stick at center and I REALLY want the team to draft some more centers. We are so thin there.
Yeah and he had a lacerated tendon not a rupture which is less severe. It happening with a skate also likely means there isn't damage to the surrounding tissue, or failure around the tendon that would cause a rupture.

I’m thinking bear atm. Take a swing and hope his injury won’t be a concern and if it pays off big for us even better

Don’t know about Aitcheson, I heard apparently has Rasmussen syndrome and likes to act tough vs smaller players and backs away when bigger guys approach him. Bad news for jack Hughes 😂

Feel free to provide a source on that.

He fought Martone this season who is 6’3 and 200+ lbs.

22 fights in junior before his draft is more than Ras will have in his career. Aitcheson is probably the hardest hitter in this draft too. He went after Martone this year who has a couple inches on him.

Hes a legit tough guy, might be the toughest all around player in the entire draft with first round skill to boot

Well if we took him I’d hope your right. If we don’t draft him sorry to sound cold but I dont care what becomes of his career lol gotta worry about our own guys

Man scouching is an idiot just put it on fast fast to see his mock draft out of curiosity for Detroit ....

Desnoyers 🤣 .... zonnon for bruins 😂. Bonkers takes

In reality world for Detroit aitcheson... I wish we all lived in scouch’s world so desnoyers would be a red wing

I love Atchison attitude, positive, energetic, nice locker room , I think, presents . If we take him , send him to SHL , nobody fights there and improve him under Kronwall.
We need to know more about Bear injury before we draft him. Is he going to get surgery?.

I don’t know if he is or not was just leaning towards him at this point cause if he gets past the injury it could pay off big for us. Tired of playing it safe , if we’re picking might as well take huge swings

Hesrd good stuff from the russian kid zharaovsky as well , no idea where he goes but I’d be looking at him at some point as well whether it’s trading up from 44 to 34 to get him or whatever. We got enough good 2 way guys we need to take swings this draft
