I selected "Other" because I haven't heard of any of those guys.
That's not at all what I mean and you know it.
There are zero players in this draft that will realistically be available at 13 that I think help the Wings more than trading that pick as part of a package to land real NHL talent.
Anybody at 13 is at least 3-4 years from playing regular NHL minutes, let alone being a significant help to the roster.
He will go 12It’s looking like that ship has sailed
13 is lucky number , right?
Pretty good13OA picks from recent drafts.
2013: Josh Morrissey
2014: Jakub Vrana
2015: Jakub Zboril
2016: Jake Bean
2017: NIck Suzuki
2018: Ty Dellandrea
2019: Spencer Knight
2020: Seth Jarvis
2021: Matthew Coronato
2022: Frank Nazar
Please don't feel compelled to respond to every thread. There are plenty of other threads in which you can discuss trading away our 13OA pick for some unnamed player.Fair enough.
In that case, I'm not interested in any of the options available.
Interesting... 10 players, 6 forwards and 4 of them are 5'10"-5'11" guys, and at least 3 of then would go higher re-draft. Starts to give ideas that maybe/if Eklund "suffers" same fate....13OA picks from recent drafts.

So you would have rather had the 1st rounder over Cat?- between lakovic n carbo , still scouting
- and i would never trade away a 1st rd pic when yzermans making the call , never
- no undersized one dimensional shooting wingers = i want a team built for playoffs
I think people are putting too much stock into the U18s. The 50 or 60+ games he played in the OHL are going to carry more weight.Yeah he's going top 10 now, possibly higher. No way he falls to #13.
For the record, I think he's worthy of a top 10 pick this year but also think things are getting a bit out of control..
Maybe, but I still think he goes top 10. I say this because the alternatives aren't screaming good picks with tons and tons of upside. Teams also like players that are hard to play against. Just look at the playoffs. Do you see a lot of open ice out there?I think people are putting too much stock into the U18s. The 50 or 60+ games he played in the OHL are going to carry more weight.
The only guy who played for Canada I think may have boosted his stock in a meaningful way is Cootes.
And what part of looking at Buffalo's roster, or Buffalo's fans screaming "WE DON'T WANT PICKS OR PROSPECTS, WE WANT NHL TALENT" makes you think that we could trade Buffalo picks or prospects for NHL talent?I agree with this. Call Buffalo up and get a top 4 d-man in Bowen Byram. Send a package for him. From the sense I’ve gotten, this draft isn’t that great. We need an elite offensive winger or top 4 D.
I voted Reschny. He really popped off down the stretch and I think he has more skill than most of the options here. If he were 6'2, I think he goes ~5th overall.
Next I think probably Bear if we're okay with his injury. Then probably Carbonneau I guess? And if none of them, I can begrudgingly live with Aitchesson.
Really I'd rather trade the pick. I'll really only be happy on draft day if Eklund falls. I don't like any of these guys as much as MBN and I don't really like MBN very much.
I’m hoping Buffalo’s GM would make a bad trade. As for roster players, I think Rasmussen and Bergeron including with Wallinder or maybe Danielson, along with #13 overall. Maybe I’m just hoping. And what part of looking at Buffalo's roster, or Buffalo's fans screaming "WE DON'T WANT PICKS OR PROSPECTS, WE WANT NHL TALENT" makes you think that we could trade Buffalo picks or prospects for NHL talent?
As far as who I want? I will use this poll as a starting point to start looking into the guys who might be available
