Probably better than he does in Toronto but keeping pace with McDavid in points is out of the question.
Matthew’s might score 90 with mcdavid idk man. lol I’m also not a leaf’s fan, LD is a great player but to pretend he doesn’t live a fair share off mcdavid is crazy. Bouchard about to make 11 million a year playing on a PP with McDavid lmao, look at nurse. When we talk about generational the standard should be set at the guys that make everyone else look great, that’s a small list and McDavid is in it

I’m referring to the playoffs where Draisaitl has more of less kept pace with McDavid in scoring m, even doing so with broken ribs and whatever other issues he’s dealt with. I just don’t see Matthews really doing that by t yeah he would be good for 80+ goals in regular season likely if played with McDavid some even strength and all the powerplays.

You can slice it and dice it, it’s clear. Playing with Mcgenerational matters

It has more to do with their power play going absolutely cold in the playoffs. If you switched Matthews and Draisaitl, you’d see Matthews playoff numbers jump and Draisaitl’s decline.

As good as players Marner and Nylander are, they’re not Mcdavid. No one is.
When you make the money Matthews does, you don't get excuses. Especially the level mathews plays down to in the playoffs. If Matthews can't carry the team why pay him McDavid money?

It begs the question what would Matthew’s do riding shot gun to Mcdavid?
He'd probably do very well as would Draisaitl. However, we would never know, because, if swapped with Draisaitl, Matthews would have played with two of Kailer Yamamoto, Warren Foegele, Ryan McLeod, Tobias Rieder, Alex Chaisson, Jesse Puljujarvi, Dominik Kahun, and Ty Rattie. Meanwhile, Draisaitl would have one of Marner or Nylander.

McDavid scored 11 more points than Draisaitl, despite playing harder matchups and Draisaitl getting bumped to McDavid's wing and PP to help get him going.

Draisaitl is good, he is not on McDavid's level, and he certainly benefits from playing with him.

I’m referring to their entire playoff careers. Astounding how well Draisaitl has done even when dealing with multiple injuries at once that would’ve sidelined most players. I’m not even a huge fan of his I’m a Matthews and Leaf’s fan being objective about it.

The guy doesn't carry injuries well. He goes electric before injuries, and then limps along in the playoffs after getting injured. We finally saw the Oilers go deep enough to shine a spotlight on the issue. I think expecting Drai to play well through 4 rounds of a playoff series is a long shot at this point. McDavid on the other hand is much better at finding ways to be effective while injured, which is a hallmark of an all time great player.
