Hard agreeMegan Chayka should be considered for GM and I'm not joking.

The next President and/or GM should NOT be currently employed employed by the Islanders.
This would be a demotion for her, I imagine. I'm not quite sure how you'd want to go from owning a multi-million dollar business to being an NHL GM and working for another rich person.Megan Chayka should be considered for GM and I'm not joking.
Imagine Megan Chayka becoming the GM and hiring Jessica Campbell (Seattle Assistant Coach) as the bench boss?Megan Chayka should be considered for GM and I'm not joking.

A portion of the hockey community would go absolutely berserk even though GM’s have been hiring from the same old boys club for decades without anyone batting an eye.
When the uno reverse card is drawn it will suddently become a problem.
Oh 100% agree but just the thought of the hypothetical is quite funny to me.I think the problem is more along the lines of Campbell being hired as the bench boss 100% is not hiring the top talent available for the position. She has not even coached in the NHL for a full year yet.
Chayka has a lengthy history of some awesome data analytics but has she ever even worked for a franchise before? Negotiated a trade? Has an idea in place for a playing style? What about negotiating with agents?
I'd be leery of hiring anyone as GM with zero experience or a head coach with one year of experience in the NHL as an assistant coach for a team who missed the playoffs.
The female Dubas? No thanks.Megan Chayka should be considered for GM and I'm not joking.
Imagine that. A person that runs a data company with zero nhl management experience and an assistant coach with less than one year experience behind the bench with a team that just fired their veteran coach after one season that missed the playoffs.Imagine Megan Chayka becoming the GM and hiring Jessica Campbell (Seattle Assistant Coach) as the bench boss?

There's plenty of experienced GMs with no accomplishments.Funny you bring this up because this thought came directly to my mind. This is not to take away from her accomplishments. She has obviously built something up that the entire leagues wants.
Just that her accomplishments include zero actual NHL experience and this is not going to be a direct correlation to NHL success.

Far he would be my #1 target by far. Of all the asst gms that I’d want for our gm spot, he has the most credibility and it’s seems he’s been ready for a better job for a while. Hopefully the Lightning get knocked out soon so we can start negotiating with him.If you want Darche, are you also inclined to grab Holland given Darche has never been a GM?
Also in that video, brisbous or whatever his name is promised Darche that role. I wonder if Julien moves up and Darche takes over soon.
I don’t see it, Yzerman inherited 2 franchise players and an all star, he took the team to the next level, Briabois made the moves to get the team over the top, but they’ve been playing Trader Vic’s to continue to compete.Darche seems to be on everyone's list. He joined TBL in 2019. They won the Cup in 2020 and 2021. So, did he really have anything to do with building the Cup winning teams? And how have TBL's moves in the past few years looked? He might be great, but where's the evidence?
