Likely going to be two GMs off the market within the next few weeks given the Blackhawks fallout.

I wouldn't say that. Management probably indirectly, has to get a feel for what fans are saying. Where would they find these fan thoughts? Sites like this ofcourse and this is one of if not the biggest hockey board message site. Funny but we see similar thoughts posted on instagram, twitter, etc. I'm pretty sure fan opinion can sway management when they are not quite sure just what the right move would be.

Give your head a shake.

JFJ was running the team , he personally said i believe it was in the same interview where he said he was denied doing a full rebuild after he drove the team into the toilet that he was never interfered with in the day to day running of the team .

he was brought in to take over a winning team and to move it forward , he failed and was fired because his superiors lost faith in him
I don’t believe that for a second. The pension plan clowns were infamously known to be running the leafs, and couldn’t pull pat Quinn’s strings. So they removed him as gm, and used a rookie to move him out of the franchise.

TPP sticking their fingers into the day to day running of the team was a media created fairy tale , stop and think for a second what the OTTP is and what there mandate is , they only exist to manage the pension fund for the teachers and try to get the best returns possible ,

there's no one at the top of that corp who could think "geez i think it would be cool to buy the Leafs and pretend to be GM for a while" they don't have that type of authority/freedom

also JFJ said

-he was denied the ability to do a full rebuild after he failed in his re-tool
-he whined about not getting the extension Peddie promised him
-he was never interfered with in the day to day running of the team

you don't make the first 2 statements then feel some obligation to make the third if it wasn't true

Quenville was management in Chicago when this whole scandal took place. It is written he did not want to deal with the situation while the playoffs were talking place.
Regardless where he is employeed if he has blood on his hands he should be held accountable.
I hadn't heard all this when I commented. I thought he was referring to them not having a win lol

Reactions: The Iceman
There was an article about the Chicago GM position from the Athletic. These are interesting ideas for the Leafs.
Michael Futa: The former Kings assistant general manager was part of the front office that assembled the 2012 and 2014 Stanley Cup champions. Perhaps the Blackhawks would be interested in a package deal with Mark Yanetti as assistant GM. Futa and Yanetti were the driving forces behind the Kings’ terrific draft record in recent seasons
Jeff Gorton: The former Rangers general manager was abruptly fired last spring, but rebuilt New York’s roster into one that is generally viewed as an up-and-coming contender. He’s currently working at NHL Network, which usually means someone who is very available.
Eric Tulsky: Tulsky is one of the darlings of the analytics community, an assistant general manager of the Carolina Hurricanes, a shrewdly built and perennially successful team. Widely respected in the hockey world, Tulsky would be a top choice for a number of teams. But as he’s under contract, the Blackhawks would have to get Carolina’s permission to even speak to him, and it’s fair to wonder if the Hurricanes would grant it, given how much they value Tulsky.
Kevin Weekes: The hardest working man in showbiz, perhaps no analyst logs more air time than Weekes, who is on ESPN or NHL Network nearly every night, so he has detailed knowledge of all 32 teams and their personnel. One of the most affable and plugged-in people in the league, Weekes would bring that blend of old school and new school that could appeal to Wirtz.

I would go for Kevin Weekes.
