Who wins the Conn Smythe Trophy?

Impossible to know with the 2nd round just about to begin. That's 8 teams (9 technically until Winnipeg and St Louis are decided tonight). You really can't get a gage on the Conn Smythe until at least the Semi finals. I mean, MacKinnon had as good of a first round as anyone and he's out.

As of right now, there are no runaway favorites. McDavid basically won it due to the last 2 series (especially the finals) last year while he was, if at all, their third best player in the first two series (Draisaitl and Bouchard had played better). Meaning that even if there were some favorites right now, we wouldn't know shit.

Someone on this team

If they were going to award the Conn Smythe trophy to a referee, I don't think Steve Kozari would be their first choice. Looking up the officials who got selected to work the playoffs, it actually says that he missed out on selection due to an injury. 22 referees and 22 linesmen get selected for the playoffs, with cuts after each round, but I don't know the numbers on how many are cut each round. However, by the SCF, I think they only have two separate crews remaining, plus one each as a reserve, for 5 referees and 5 linesmen total.

He really didn’t. Bad in game 5 and 6 while your team gets knocked out as the favourite isn’t “as good as a first round as anyone”

Disrespectful to Auston Matthews here. Statistically speaking it’s harder for the leafs to make the second round than for a team to win the cup, so Matthews should get a Conn Smythe right now for this rare achievement.
Honorary lifetime achievement Conn Smythe for Toronto?

Can't even fathom an answer until about halfway through the Conference Finals.
