Before Game 4:

1. Barkov (captain, great comeback story in Game 3, absolutely fantastic throughout the playoffs)
2. Forsling (absolutely fantastic throughout the playoffs)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3. Bobrovsky (stole Game 1, absolutely fantastic in the finals and by extension the past two series)
4. McDavid (captain, has done pretty much all he can on his own, albeit not at his best in Game 3)

I also really wish the playoffs were included in the voting for the other major individual awards. It feels completely wrong to ignore the most important games of the season. Particularly when we know that the players themselves focus on the postseason in particular. It's all about the Stanley Cup, not the President's Trophy.

For me, it's Bob and then Barkov but I didn't watch Florida's first 3 rounds so I could be wrong and a Panther fan can let me know. Those are the two I seem to be swearing at the most while watching my Oil get pummeled.lol

Round 1 Barkov
Round 2 Barkov
Round 3 Barkov
Round 4 Bob (Barkov close 2nd)

After the 3 rounds Bob ranked at best 3rd in goalie rakings behind Swayman abd Shest

You bring up a good point. Is the Conn Smythe the Finals MVP OR the Playoffs?

Finals - Bob, he killed the finals.
Playoffs- Barkov, he was outstanding from the 1st Period vs the Lightning to last night.

This is the question most people seem to be missing. NHL doesn't have a finals MVP but a playoffs MVP. Edmonton could be up in this series 2-1 without Bob, but they could be playing against Canes or Rangers without Barkov.

And it's not like Barkov has been invisible in the finals. On the contrary, he has done everything you could ask for from the best skater of a winning team. Sure, he hasn't shut down world's best offensive players alone, but they are still shut down. On top of that, he humiliated McDavid in game 1 to set up the GWG and scored the GWG for game 3 himself. There is not much more a skater can do in the finals, and even if Bob has been elite for a game and a half, Barkov still has also the previous rounds in his pocket.

Betting markets have Bob -500, so they're pretty much saying it's him.

His best round has been the finals, and his worse round was against TB, which is a distant memory to voters. His raw SV% and GSAx has improved throughout the playoffs, with some great performances in Games 1, 2, and 3 (EDM had a ton of chances), which kinda builds the momentum narrative for voters.

Bobrovski, if Florida wins. Not undeserved though it will look a bit funny when you remember that the previous rounds were basically Florida vs the other team's goalie.

Finals will carry the most weight because it has the most coverage by a mile

You can see even in this run how badly thar Panthers roster is known, especially in Canada

So now when all the eyes are on the finals Bob has the biggest hype

Edit, prior to finals Barkov was the betting favourite for Conn Smythe for Florida

Yeah Bob did not win the Shesty matchup that's for sure. Panthers were just that much better that they overcame the better goalie.

I hope Barkov gets it and I think he has been the more impactful player throughout, but I won't get super upset if recency bias gives it to Bob. Only one player can win it...

I doubt Kopitar cries himself to sleep because he doesn't have one.

Bob has been finals MVP but I don't think he was the best goalie on ice vs NYR and maybe not against BOS either. Not that he was bad or anything and they didn't even need him to be great. Barkov OTOH has been integral to their success throughout. It would be somehow ironic if now that he finally gets some attention, Bob would "steal" his Conn Smythe with couple flashy performances in the finals :D Not that Bob would be undeserving at all if he wins it, would be hard to complain after his performance in the finals so far.

I agree. I think in the context of Playoff MVP - Barkov.

Bob got the National Audience...

The way NHL.com has been publishing articles about Barkov feels like they're pushing him for Conn Smythe

Nahh

Friedman basically already admitted Bob is going to win it and it’s based purely on the finals
