The US won't win a medal next year either don't think their game is suited for international ice. I think they'll need big help from guys like Galchenyuk, Eichel, Hanifin, Trouba and Jones IMO.

For the WHC it really depends on which NHL teams don't make the playoffs and if there are any good US players out of those teams left.

Interestingly enough - if Justin Abdelkader doesn't act like an idiot, the US had a good chance of coming away with a medal for the 2nd year in row. Some of the College and borderline NHL players, actually played really well in the WHC this past spring.

Most of the US kids have won on International ice now, as Juniors, so I don't think the ice size means anything now to players like Galchenyuk, Eichel, Hanifin, Trouba and Jones etc.

USA just can't bring grinders like Backes, Callahan, Brown and should have got guys like Galchenyuk, Ryan, Okposo. They are going to need some skilled players aswell because their players aren't very explosive and game breaking. They're doing better in that direction but in 2010 they had a better result because they were younger and faster, also NA ice had alot to do with that.

I bumped it because I wanted everyone to know that Canada is the best hockey nation in the world and it proved many myths incorrect like how Canada get win outside of NA or can't win on NA ice. This is one of the best Ice Hockey Olympic performances of all time IMO, total domination and Canada will win the next Olympics you can quote me on it. I wouldn't be mad if Canada won gold.

You can go ahead and post the fail predictions of Canada winning gold from WJC prediction threads but I am confident in Canada every year, they got history of golds to back it up. Canada is doing very well on the men's level and we'll get on a roll at the World Juniors then I will be satisfied and want to see more respect toward Canada because I don't think they get enough.

You have a point, I'm not saying you can't be confident in your own team. That's fine but if it was Canada vs _______ I think most would bet their money on Canada and that's how it should be and even including a Canada vs Sweden WJC final simply because it's Canada. They have the history on their side, sure Sweden has been doing well lately but Canada is good every year, although I think it would depend on the tournament performances from both teams because Sweden is a good team.

We are favourite ahead of Sweden, because this is a new tournament with new players. In Sochi, we were the favourites not becuase of the win in Vancouver, but because of the roster and the players. The same goes here. We have again probably the best roster, maybe one of the best since 2005, NHL ice, and home soil.
