Who will win gold?

Canada hasn't fared well in the last two Olympics played on the bigger ice surface. That's why I am glad Doughty and Subban are on this roster. It's very hard to predict who will win gold this time.

Russia - Home court advantage, excellent forward corps, iffy D. Good goaltending depth.

Sweden - Mobile offensively and defensively (keys on the big ice), solid all-around, Good goaltending.

Finland - Gritty team, excellent goaltending depth.

Canada - the best skaters throughout their lineup, offensively and defensively. Good Goaltending.

US - looks more like a team built for the Stanley Cup/16 Win postseason than a short/round-robin tournament.

Tough to predict a gold medalist. Russia, Canada, and Sweden are the favourites, while the ever underrated Fins always surprise. I will go with my heart and say Canada will win gold.

judging by the roster discussion threads, the medal will be vacated since not 1 country picked a team capable of getting gold or silver.

USA takes gold, Russia finishes 2nd.

Sweden wins bronze, Canada is in 4th place.

There are four teams capable of winning (Canada, USA, Sweden and Russia). If anyone else wins I would consider that a huge upset. I would pick Team Canada, they're just too superior on paper not to.

Czech, Finland or Slovakia winning would be a HUGE upset? No, it would only be a very minor one. All of these teams are capable of winning this tournament. Team outside of these seven, now that would be a HUGE upset.

Why can't people grasp that these tournaments aren't won on paper?

Sweden seem like the favorite to me if they're healthy.

Defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson of the Phoenix Coyotes is recovering from a concussion sustained during a game Jan. 2...
Alexander Edler of the Vancouver Canucks, who has missed the past month with a lower-body injury...
Eriksson...but a pair of concussions this season has limited him to 24 games, none since Dec. 7...
Franzen...hasn't played since Dec. 15...
Steen is third in the League with 24 goals despite not playing since Dec. 21 due to a concussion

Canada will choke once again when real hockey nations start play for real on international ice. You should have learned it by now. Canada is always so bad tactically and never adjusts.

Sweden will win it. They have the best roster and best system.
