Speculation: who will replace Evans and Army if they are traded?

  • We're expecting server maintenance on March 3rd starting at midnight, there may be downtime during the work.
Evans? I don't know if anyone could short-term internally. After this season? If we get a legit 2C, Evans can take the reigns and learn. It will take a while before he can fill his shoes on the defensive end.

Armia? I don't care. He doesn't give a consistent effort, and we shouldn't be fooled by a contract year. Replace him with whomever. If we don't get the return we want, he's good as an own rental to take advantage of his contract year effort. To be fair, he's always been good in the playoffs, but he hardly ever helps his team to get there in the first place.

Well, first question is who did we get back in trade? Apparently Hughes doesn't want to to take picks back, which I personally think is a bluff as his last few trades, not counting Laine, were for picks (Allen, Kovacevic etc.) So, this now becomes impossible to answer.

I've said before, I don't give a f*** about Laval. That team exists solely to provide us with players. Beck is already up, taking Dach's spot. So, there's Davidson that deserves a shot and Roy could be given yet another shot to see if he's still a low-effort floater or not. Ideally Tuch would get some games. Condotta. Maybe even reward Xhekaj with a game or two.

Breaking news - just get warm bodies from the team you will be trading with?

It’s not really rocket science lmao
Breaking news - crushing players spirits, by inserting some “warm body”, while focused on a playoff hunt isn’t the recipe for taking next step in development / progression of 53% of the roster

Management will not risk losing players to free agency for nothing, that is piss poor asset management fans should criticise and require a valid explanation for. This would hurt the team more than trading away Evans/Armia/Dvorak for a pick and "warm body." Players are competitors, but should also understand the business side of hockey.

Maybe we should build these poor wee fellas a safe space too... this... is still hockey, right??

Hmm probably RHP and Condotta, but that really depends on how Laval has been doing lately and if we can sign some prospects to join Laval early.

I’d try Heineman-ABB-Roy 4th line. ABB / Heineman were good together in preseason and he has NHL XP.

As for Roy I just don’t think we have another option. Xhekaj or Davidson aren’t ready for NHL speed of play. Maybe RHP.

Roy has shown he can process NHL speed.
