Personally, I don't think they will give the "C" to anyone this year. Just a feeling. In the Trouba thread, I mentioned they might as well give it to Laffy. Now, that I really think about it, I think Vinny would be a great "C". Very well respected, gives it his everything, every shift and doesn't take any crap from the opposition. A born leader, imo. That's my vote.

If Panarin, Kreider, or Zibanejad didn't get it the first time I don't see why they would now. Fox gives me very Leetch esque vibes in that he's quiet and does his own thing so I don't see the C on him. Trocheck maybe if he was playing better but he's another guy that could be out the door at any given time. Schneider still seems more reserved and young. Laf could be the guy depending on the direction of the team over the next 12 months but I'm not in the room to know how big of a voice he has.

Basically, I don't think there's anyone on the roster right now that strikes me as the guy to wear it. Rather continue with A's until someone emerges.

i think the C should be a competitive and emotional leader, who speaks to the media and refs, rather then the teams most elite player

Should be Kreider, but I assume he will be traded before long. I think Trocheck gets it to start next season, depending on whether or not Drury goes big game hunting for Tkachuk/JT. But I do like the idea of Trocheck being the transitional captain until one of Fox, Laf or Cuylle can take the C when his contract is up.
