On the topic of every other NHL Head coach in history having some hint of Head Coaching experience before being hired as a NHL Head Coach (Brind’Amour has none):

So. Freaking. What.
Brind’Amour is the best damn player who has ever put on a Hurricanes sweater, and it’s not even close. He’s one of the best leaders and captains this game has ever seen, to the point that it’s borderline criminal that he hasn’t received more support for the Hall of Fame.
