IM guessing habs, since the absurdly complex conditions of the transfer for CGY 2026 will happen

Canadiens

Canadiens (conditional)

PICK MAY OR MAY NOT TRANSFER DEPENDING ON ABSURDLY COMPLEX CONDITIONS

Traded • future considerations (?) to Flames for • Sean Monahan • conditional pick(s) (if Flames 2024 first is #20-32 then Canadiens have option to receive Flames 2024 first; or else: (A) if Panthers 2025 first transfers to Flames then (1) if both Flames and Panthers 2025 firsts are not in top 10 then Canadiens receive more favorable of Flames, Panthers picks; or (2) if Flames 2025 first is in top 10 and Panthers 2025 first is not in top 10 then Canadiens receive Panthers 2025 first; (B) if Panthers 2025 first does not transfer to Flames then (1) if Flames 2025 first is #1 overall then Canadiens receive Flames 2025 third and more favorable of Flames, Panthers 2026 firsts; or (2) if Flames 2025 first is #2-10 then Canadiens receive Flames 2025 first; or (3) if Flames 2025 first is not in top 10 then Canadiens receive Flames 2025 first and (a) if Panthers 2025 first is not in top 10 and (b) Panthers 2025 first has been transferred to another team and (c) Panthers 2025 first is more favorable than Flames then Canadiens receive Flames 2025 fourth) on 2022-08-18

I expect the Sharks to be the leagues worst team again next year. Hawks are too good now to be in the basement.

After lose for Hughes and fail for Nail, I'm having a hard time coming up with a pun for McKenna.
Crashin’ for Gavin is the best I could come up with.

But thanks for asking the important questions. I look forward to see if someone comes up with something better.

[Redacted] weenie for Celebrini.

Gavin McKenna is tough...

Play like you just got off a trans-Atlantic flight after a two week vacation in Europe that honestly was more work than just staying home because of the kids basically never sleeping and throwing tantrums at every opportunity but hey at least you got to see Vienna.... for McKenna?
Just rolls off the tongue.

The Flames were the only team that deliberately got a lot worse.

All the rest if they bottom out just suck in general.

A lot of people are talking about the how the Flames have been blowing it up for this year, which is true, but they also think we're gonna easily be a bottom 5 team.

nah nah, just wait until the year after when we trade away Andersson, Backlund, Kuzmenko, Mantha and probably Coleman and Kadri. Flames are going to be dreadful in 2025-2026.

Hopefully the Blues. They've only had 2 top 5 draft picks in the last 44 years.

Erik Johnson #1 OA - 2006
Alex Pietrangelo #4 OA - 2008

I'm down with the deserving team being the one without top 5 picks in the last 44 years

I could see McKenna on the Blue Jackets.

Hockey Gods haven't been so kind to the BJs in the last decade.

Flames will be in the mix for the tank in that year for sure.
Probably the guy they really want to start that franchise around, and be ready for the 27-28 season when the new barn opens.

You guys are getting the Panthers' 2025. Just give it a rest.

Anaheim is my bet.

Meh. Anaheim would have been more like bottom 10-12th in the league this past season if they didn’t have all their injuries which was like Top 5 in the league. If they can even stay even close to healthy think they will be more around the .500 mark.

It won't be the Flyers. We don't believe in tanking, only being bad and irrelevant perpetually. If we got the first overall pick, it would put pressure on management to actual be good, and they couldn't have that.

As a Blackhawks fan, we really didn't start the rebuild that long ago. Next year is still a rebuilding year and man I would absolutely love to have McKenna.
I am not sure of how the rules work for the lottery, but since Chicago won the Bedard lottery and "won" second place this year, does that count as winning twice, or does the second place this year not count since it was their natural position?

If you win twice in 5 years, can't you not win it again in that time span?

2nd place doesn't count because they didn't move up

San Jose, Chicago, Columbus, Philly, Ottawa, Pittsburgh, Calgary look like they're gonna be the bottom of their divisions come 2026.
