Who was faster in their prime Ovi or Sid?

Sid was more agile & had a better skating technique, while Ovi had more pace & acceleration.

Sid was always about awareness & while Ovi was more dependent on his athleticism... and when Ovi's athleticism degraded - his production fell off massively & he became one dimensional.

Didn’t Crosby come into the league like Makar in terms of skating? Like everybody was in awe of his technique and overall skating abilities on top of being one of the fastest guys in the NHL?

Not that I remember. He wasn't revered for his skating ability like Makar or MacKinnon/McDavid are.

Yes he was. He was arguably the best skater in NHL history in his early career, up to that point atleast.
