Say what you want about Dubas' tenure but I never once dreaded July 1st. I'm dreading July 1st this year lol.Have you looked at this year's free agents?

Evan Bouchard a DMan makes Marner's playoff offense look like child's play. It's good that you can see this with Bouchard because the advanced stats attempt to say otherwise.
Because the yearly collection of lower tier misfits are low skilledBiggest problem for this team is that half of it gets swapped out at the end of every season. As a result there is no team spirit, players dont stick up for each other. Takes years to build but the patience has never been there. (Look at Tampa before they started winning for example..)
Well i hope the leafs dont sign anyone unless its a total fair dealSay what you want about Dubas' tenure but I never once dreaded July 1st. I'm dreading July 1st this year lol.
I'm betting they sign B Tanev.I’ve already posted about the bottom six. At this point the only option is try to hit hard on grit strong work ethic players. Acquiring stars is not happening with our assets and the free agency crop. I’d go Crouse, E. Kane (if bought out), Jeannot, Mccbain depending on cost.

People think that they can copy the panthers sucess by signing some of their players, the way you copy the panthers is by finding the next Sam bennet, the next Carter verhauge etc. Getting players like that, in their prime for a good price, not paying dudes big money for their declining years.Well i hope the leafs dont sign anyone unless its a total fair deal
Maybe next season they ll have capspace to make moves in sesson
Try to trade people ,maybe getting ekblad could help
But if u listen to rumors
He will only go to small media markets that wont keep bringing up his PED suspension
Ill pass
The same Matthew Knies who wants a bridge instead of committing long term?Changing the DNA has more to do with who you get rid then who you obtain, use Knies for what to look for…….

Yeah, imo a bridge deal is best fof player and team, we don’t know if he’s the real deal, this will be his prove it contract, if he is the real deal he’ll earn his big pay raise, if not another bullet dodged……People think that they can copy the panthers sucess by signing some of their players, the way you copy the panthers is by finding the next Sam bennet, the next Carter verhauge etc. Getting players like that, in their prime for a good price, not paying dudes big money for their declining years.

DNA is very important for the right team but here are my 2 questions:Changing the DNA has more to do with who you get rid then who you obtain, use Knies for what to look for…….
Losing in the playoffs. Again.DNA is very important for the right team but here are my 2 questions:
1. If Marner walks, do people think Matthews/Nylander have the DNA to lead us like a 4 round team?
2. Do you trust Tre to put the right guys around Matthews/Nylander to lead us through 4 rounds whether Matthews/Nylander can or cannot?
If you answer no to both of these, what are we doing exactly?
I think long term is best, his comparables right now put him in the 7-8 range on a long term deal. You can even go a bit higher like 8.5. That gives you value later. Shit the leafs can flex their financial muscle 8.5 with it all (minus league min salary) in bonuses for the first 5 years, front loaded as much as allowed in the CBA. Say the team's window is only a few more year, well if you have Knies locked in for 8, on a deal where the money owed is less than the cap hit thats a massively attractive asset, if the window is longer you're going to get value having a big scoring winger on what is no longer such a large cap hit.Yeah, imo a bridge deal is best fof player and team, we don’t know if he’s the real deal, this will be his prove it contract, if he is the real deal he’ll earn his big pay raise, if not another bullet dodged……
Yes but you get more value out of a locking a guy like Knies up long term. You do realize a bridge deal means he remains RFA after don't you?
1. Maybe, This team looked really good even with Matthews injured right up until the second half of game 3. If Stolarz didnt get hurt they probably close out that series. I firmly believe having certain players get hot at the right time is the key to going from contender to champion.DNA is very important for the right team but here are my 2 questions:

Sad truth is the DNA cannot change with Matthews & Willy around. We have to ride out these contracts then rebuild the early 2030s.
Let that sink in LMAO
