Would it really be that hard to convince someone to take a flyer on Beleskey if we offered an incentive like Spooner?

You would think Vegas would be all over something like this.

Im playing EHM and want to know who would realistically be traded if the Bostone Bears finally decide to do a full rebuild next year.

Im not a Bruins fan so all I'm assuming is that Bergeron, Marchand and prospects would stay. Which notable players am I missing (who would be definitely traded or kept)?

Thanks

I'm guessing spooner becomes too expensive to get a new contract
I'm starting to think vatrano wont fit the plans... becomes trade bait
mcquaid or one of the millers gets picked by vegas
the ufa's are allowed to walk
hayes ends up playing in the minors

as for incoming... couple kids are the most likely hole fillers

if the team is going to make any big acquisitions expect a top 4 lh shot dman

roster...

pastranak/krecji/{kid}
{kid}/Bergeron/marchand
backes/{kid}/vatrano
{kid}/nash/belesky

most likely kids... chelerik or debrusk on the left side... accari on the right side... jfk at center or kuraly... maybe blidh... maybe shenshyn

ill have to learn how to spell their names

on defense...

I'm leaning towards

avoy/chara
carlo/new guy
killer/krug

so I'm predicting quite a lot of turn over but most the new faces are guys who have already had a cup of coffee

No way I would unload Chara at this point. $4 mil for a top-four d-man is not a bad deal, which is what he will make next year. I don't buy that Chara is cooked. The Bs do not have a great PK this year without Chara on it. Also, where would the Bs D have been this season without Chara? I think it's safe to say that the Bs would not be in the playoffs without Z. He is still contributing offensively. He is mentoring the young D. He is still a rock on the PK. He is still playing good enough D to be on the top pairing. This may very well be his last season on the top pair, who knows. Even so, he will be able to contribute on a lower pairing. This D is not at the level yet where it would be a good idea to unload Chara.

Buy out Khudobin? The guy who had a 5 game win streak and is a key reason we're in the playoffs now? Harsh.

lol people saying 6 players traded. We're talking about the NHL, right?

Yeah, I'd say Liles is gone (UFA), one D goes to Vegas (McQuaid/Miller) and Spooner is likely to leave in some way in the shuffle around the expansion draft. And that may be it. I'm assuming they'll try to rid themselves of Beleskey and Hayes, but I'd be surprised if they manage to find any takers for either one. If they manage to dump one of those contracts, Stafford may be re-signed.

A full rebuild? So, when I read something like that, my warped brain says they are looking to move the Bergy`s/Z/DK`s of the team

Sorry, no full rebuild about to happen, if it were, would have been prior to this season

I'd resign Stafford and DoMo for sure.
I'd also keep Liles, depending.

Gotta dump Beleskey some how some way.

Appreciate what Stafford has done, I don`t sign him for a nickel.

DoMo absolutely would re-sign and Liles I never want to see in a Bruins uni after this season

History will not repeat itself if asked of him... Time to prepare for the next one to take over and play more games...Must play 30 games for Rask to be productive.. Those 30 games will not be given to Anton.. I would even think of trading Rask with this above average playoffs, the return might still be there. (Calgary or Winnipeg)

To be clear, if there ever was a year where you'd see lots of trades, it would be this one ahead of expansion and protection issues for other teams. But in order for us to trade the names mentioned in here, we're going to be eating cap retention and taking on other team's problems. Maybe more of a problem player for problem player scenario where someone get a fresh start here. But dumping our trash on others is wishful thinking.

I'd also hesitate to trade Spooner at a low point (ie these playoffs so far). I think we try and trade him while he's on a good points streak in the regular season and get max value.

Other than the obvious, I keep Nash. He has looked pretty decent the last 10 games or so.

I give Belesky about 20 games next year. I'm hoping it was the injury that caused his downfall this year. Mngmt should meet with him and lay in to him about what they expect of his off season training. Perhaps check on him just prior to the draft, and if they don't like what they see get rid of him, and if he seems to be training hard, give him 20 games.

I ask Beleskey in the off season how he feels about riding buses in the A.

Move Rask. He's been way to hot and cold and will never be a 50-60 game type player and game stealer that his salary level would make you expect from him. Keep Pasta and Bergy and anyone else can be included in the deal to move Rask... Keep all our young D and yes even keep Chara just be ready for way less minutes for him..

Getting rid of Hayes and Beleskey are a must, maybe we get lucky and Vegas grabs one of these guys, then we can trade the other for some career minor leaguer or a 7th round pick.

You still missed the point that it costs more in cap to buy him out.

Zboril possibly
Lauzon possibly
Gabrielle
Debrusk
Bjork

If you believe the stories, Zboril took a step back this year and is now considered a longer term project than ready to make the jump. Looks like he's been passed on the organizational depth chart by guys like McAvoy, O'Gara, Gryz, and Lauzon.

disagree, I believe his "step back" actually came last year and even then, I would argue that his post Christmas play was very good and his game was so balanced this year, his presence allowed the Dogs more offensively gifted players to do their thing.

Now, not a clue what that will mean, if anything, in regards to his professional development time line but he played very well this season

In all honesty, I couldn't tell you as I don't follow juniors very much down here. We get more games than we used to, but the frequency with which I've seen Zboril play is very limited. I'm just going with what's been written, and what the beat reporters, and analysts have said. I know (and yes, obviously consider the source) Haggs was on the radio saying this a couple of weeks ago, and while Billy Jaffe didn't say it as bluntly and overtly as Haggs, he alluded to it as well during an interview. So again, take that for whatever it's worth. If you've seen him play a lot, I'd clearly defer to your opinion.

We're not going to be rebuilding. We are in the playoffs and with the exception of Chara our core is in their primes. Most of our supporting cast has been kids.

I like Oshie but I'm not comfortable paying him what he's going to want with Beleskey's paycheck on the line and consider what we're paying Backes. If we can ditch Beleskey then I'd take a run at Oshie.

Defense should be (IMO)
Chara/MacAvoy/Krug/Killer/Carlo/MqQuaid

I could deal with Chiller instead of McQuaid, but I'd prefer Quaider. I've done a 180 on him and Killer this season my god.

That's actually a very good defense and all of those guys can handle top 4 minutes IMO. Gives us the ability to limit MacAvoy and Carlo's time if there are some growing pains. Lose Chiller to expansion.

I'd resign Dom Moore for 900K. Acciari and Heinen in the lineup. Maybe Shenyshen? How's he doing?
