My Sportsnet+ subscription ends on April 6th and I've already set up the cancellation, so I'll be watching less Bruins games next year regardless.
But I'll still have a TV package with regular Canadian sports channels (for now), so I'll still get to see some Bruins games.
If Sleepy Joe Sacco and company is still behind the Bruins bench next year I won't be watching a single one of them.
I have zero desire to watch a Mike Sullivan re-run here either. The very thought of bringing back their head coach from 20 years ago is stomach-turning. Sullivan sucks, lucky to have the chance to coach Crosby and Malkin while they were close to their prime otherwise he'd be already back somewhere as an assistant coach.
Torts should never been seen again behind an NHL bench. I don't want his cranky old carcass anywhere near the young players on this Bruins team. Mason Lohrei might give put him in the mental institution. 18 seasons since his cup in 2004 and he's got just 4 playoff round wins and has missed the playoffs 45% of the time. Just not an effective coach in today's NHL.
These old coaches, they haven't evolved. Not Sullivan, not Torts, not Queneville, not Ruff, not Laviolette, none of them.
Bruins fans and management need to look to the future and ignore names and voices of the past. There is a plethora of young, modern, innovative coaches across the world of high level hockey. Coaches who can relate and get their point across to today's NHL player.
Go find one.
