Who should get in the 2026 HoF? Players who receive less than 5% of the vote are eliminated. Even if he wasn't, he's not a Hall of Famer.

Other than Keith Hernandez I'm having trouble thinking of any other MLBer with 10+ Golden Gloves who isn't in the Hall already.

The problem for Jones is he literally fell off a cliff performance wise as soon as he turned 30. I wouldnt be against him getting in, but how many players have had the same trajectory and are in the hall? He was worth 2 fWAR after 30.

Because of injuries, not him simply sucking overnight. His post 30 games played were 75, 82, 107, 77, 94. IMO that's a worthy distinction to make, guys cant control injury issues.

Plus the barrier of "great player who had a bad late career due to injuries" barrier has been broken and not just in baseball.

Gold Gloves are not a good measure of defensive performance and Vizquel was not more deserving than a dozen other shortstops who will never have a plaque.

If Jones had all of his seasons at three years older than he actually was, it wouldn't change his value at all. I don't see why the age he was when he collapsed matters, just what kind of value he provided.

I dont know if Utley will have much of a chance given Jeff Kent never made it (I'd personally take him over Utley).

I'm at least much higher on Beltran and Jones than Utley.
