Zucc, for sure. He's been consistently great the entire season. McDonagh didn't really blow my mind like he has in the past, but maybe I'm just used to how good he is and Zuccarello is more of a shock.

I think that concept is a major reason why Lundqvist regularly is under appreciated. Consistent greatness causes standards to change in such a way.

I feel like Zucc has definitely been our whole offense, but that Mcd is more integral to the team based on his position. So I went Mcd.

I'm not sure what you're talking about McDonagh has been as good defensively as ever most of the year but now added some excellent offense.

Oh and it's easily him, IMO. Zucc is awesome but is still on a 58 point 82 game pace. McDonagh is probably a top 10 D-man. He's a big reason for the PP's success too.

Zuccarello is playing like a 1st liner. McDonagh is playing like a Norris calibre defenseman. Zuccarello is our most pleasant surprise. McDonagh is our MVP.

McDonagh, which is kind of boring because I expect that I will be voting Ryan McDonagh for at least the next 4 years. Zuccarello has been the Rangers most consistent forward, but that doesn't make him more valuable than a guy that play 22 minutes a night against - often shutting down - every top line, and has also become an offensive force. If he wasn't already, this is the year when Ryan McDonagh cemented his status as the Ranger's best skater.

That about sums it up perfectly :)

if I said to you tomorrow that you had to lose one of Zucc or McD for the rest of the year (they would be returned completely healthy and singed next year), who would you chose? One has been the Rangers best forward, the other is integral to just about everything.

McD>Zucc

You could eventually replace Zucc, a lot harder to replace a McD type d-man.

It's McDonagh. As Machinehead said, we'd be ****ed if he didn't play like he did the first 3 months. Zuccarello is awesome, but just not in the same league as McD.

McDonagh is the better player, sure. And he's more difficult to replace, I agree with that too, but Zuccarello is the most valuable player so far this season. It's close, but still.

How? How is a forward who is on pace for 58 points more valuable than our #1 two-way beast of a defenseman who plays 24 minutes a night?

I love Zuccarello, he has become one of my personal favorites, but to claim he's more valuable than McDonagh is simply baffling. And yet 49 people believe so. I just don't get it.

ZOMG people don't agree with my vote.....I just don't get it!

Right now it's 1. McDonagh and 2. Zuccarello.

Henrik might be there by the end of the year if he keeps up his recent play.

Talbot and Kreider have been the two most pleasant surprises.

Simply a case of some voting with emotion rather than logic. There isn't really a rational case that can be made for it. And I love Zuca too.
