Who gets waived?

Every year some players going to get sent down through waiver wire. As it stands we have quite bit of a log jam up on the forwards.

Kessel Bozak Lupul
Mac Grabo Kule
Frattin Mcclement Komarov
Brown Steckel ???

Kadri isn't going to be doing 4th line duty.

Most likely Steckel, Connolley, Lombardi

One of them gets waived. Question is, do they clear considering they all have this season? also that half of their salaried is written off due to lock out.

Who picks up who? I can see Calgary or Carolina picking up Connelly or Lombardi

Komarov will be on the fourth, in all likelihood. Kadri on the 3rd line.

Steckel becomes redundant with McClement in the fold. Could see him drifting in and out of the lineup.

I think trades will open up our roster and make these decisions easier. I can see one of Bozak or MacArthur going out the door.

With the ability to retain salary in trades now in the CBA, it likely won't be as tough a task ridding ourselves of players like Lombardi and Connolly.

We probably won't have to waive anybody.

As far as I understand buy outs don't kick in till June.

These 3 players are legit candidates to get waived in order to make room. I am not sure if I understand your thoughts.

I believe you can waive up to 3 players (someone please correct me on that)

Burke doesn't like to waive players because apparently it's not professional, especially for guys he signed like Connolly.

I think Lombardi is a must .

I wouldn't want to pull the trigger on Bozak anytime soon. He's improved a little bit every year. If the Leafs ever get a #1 centre, he could look good at #3.

That's my line of thinking aswell. Fast, good on the draw, and a good forechecker. He'd make a fine 3rd line center. He might even produce more away from the shutdown pairing sent out for Kessel and Lupul.

You don't put a guy like Bozak into the waiver wire. It has to be Steckel or Lombardi.

Steckel brings nothing to the table except for his draws, which Bozak is getting much better at.

I don't see Burke make any trade any time soon, I don't think any GM is ready yet.

I'm thinking that the Lombardi trade has been the biggest mystery to me. I mean Lebda was only being paid 1 million a year. Just send him to the minors. Not playing Franson much throughout the season?

McClement is pretty much just as good on the draw as Steckel is and isn't slow.

Supposedly minor league players will count against the cap if they're not on their ELC and make above a certain salary. Think it was proposed to be $1 million. If so, most of those players and Colton Orr would count against the cap if no one grabs them on waivers.

I never got how "owners wouldnt be ready" to make trades.. theyve been scouting one another during the lock out, you honestly think the GM's havent been talking? lol.
