Putting asses in the seats is irrelevant to a players development.Playing against the toughest competition in the world will always be best (in any sport) provided of course the athlete isn't overwhelmed and is getting reps.
I'm very happy with the progress of both players and I've got the impression management is as well. So NO. It would be counter-productive to move a player who is in obvious progression to a different work environment. They earned the right to make the team so they have to lose that right in order to be sent down. This is how you gain respect long term. These two guys are going to put fans asses in the seats at the Bell Center. So yeah go ahead and take away one of the main reasons for watching a game live. Makes Sense to me.
Can you find another example of vets buried lately apart Neal?
When you have McJesus on your roster you can get crazy somewhat...
That's a false belief promoted by certain local journalists. It's always a thing of keeping the organization respectable and bla bla, you rarely want to send NHL vets to the AHL... a bad look for future signings/negotiations...
Do you know how Hoffman, Drouin, or Dadonov are perceived in the locker room?I highly doubt Pezzetta gets claimed, but I'd rather just punt one of Hoffman/Drouin/Dadonov to Laval.
Pezzetta is a hard worker who sticks up for his teammates and is well liked, I think it would send a better message to get rid of one of the soft overpaid plugs to set an example.

No way he leaves 6.5M$ on the table. If they were to waive Dadonov and he clears, I see him going back to Europe, not Laval.
No escrow in the ahl either, he'll make more $ down thereNo way he leaves 6.5M$ on the table.

On Saturday night in his season debut, Pezzetta looked less interested in playing hockey than Drouin.

It was always a mystery for me how people outside the locker room decide who's loved and who's not...
Do u see him playing in Laval at his age? If they terminate his contract, he could sign for decent money in Europe. No way he leaves 6.5M$ on the table.
He won't, but I don't see him playing in Laval. He's not going to write off the money owed to him. This season is a $6.5M salary season. He won't get that in Europe.
No way he leaves 6.5M$ on the table.
Daddy. His role with this club was already fulfilled before he laced them up. Will he even be worth future consideration at TDL?
True. I know its a lot of money, but I just can't see him reporting to Laval. I'd rather see Pitlick or Pezzetta in his spot too.Maybe they'll work something out with a Europeam club where they loan him to that club. Dadonov still gets his full NHL salary, amd the Wiropean club pays part of it. I think the Blackhawks did something like that with Huet. But the rules may have changed.
I agree, but it depends on his health. He's been damaged goods for 2 years now.Why we don't entertain trading Edmundson instead of sending someone down? I don't get it. We have Matheson and Savard and Johnathan Kovacevic can fill a spot.
He needs to play some before he is tradeable for something decent. I hear Leafs' D sucks. Why we don't entertain trading Edmundson instead of sending someone down? I don't get it. We have Matheson and Savard and Johnathan Kovacevic can fill a spot.
