With the mention of there being 8 teams at the next one, the locks I would assume are Canada/USA/Russia/Slovakia/Czechia/Finland/Sweden, so who gets in between the Swiss and Germans?

Not a bad metric, but the Swiss are way ahead here at 11:7, but you could argue the top end talent is better for Germany, Drai himself at his best could literally be said to be the best player in the game so it would be a shame not to get to see him play internationally.

Swiss are a lock IMO (I do think their program is in trouble though but their current generation is fantastic). I think it'll come down to Germany vs Slovakia in 2028 and agree with warrior, it'll come down to the most prolific NHLers.

No idea what reinstating Russia looks like but I'm going to go on a limb and say that it's not imminent.

Oh shit, I read it wrong. You had Slovakia as a lock. My bad. I don't think they are and it will depend on Nemec and Slaf and if they are the superstars I want them to be by then. Same with Gajan. plus about 10 other very interesting Slovaks that may or may not be on the rise. Strbak, Dalibor and Mesar for instance. I don't see Cehlarik or Cernak losing any quality.

Not today but Slaf and Nemec project nicely as 1-2 overall. The 2 D are great. Tatar will be done by then. No NHL goalie currently. Honzek is another promising young guy.

I'd say this is rock bottom for Slovakia in the NHL. It is rising up but I have no idea by how much.

FWIW - Germany has nothing in the pipe to be excited about. They current 4 studs are unbelievably good but it gets thin fast.

That's why I said the Swiss are a lock IMO and I am a Slovak fan and hate to say that!

I'm coping fine, since I'm not Moldovan nor have I ever been there.

In fact, my only experience I know of that I've had with the country of Moldova is that the group that sings the "Numa Numa" song is from there. However, the lyrics to that song are in Romanian.
