Who else has very little interest in the Four Nations tournament?

If Crosby isn't playing, my interest level has significantly plummeted. Seeing him with McD in a best on best was by far the main draw.

And, while it would be awesome to have Russia in the tournament, I also understand that things outside of hockey impact who will and won't be invited and have no issue with them being left out. Much like I think the US shouldn't be invited in future events if they do something in a similar vein as they've been alluding to.

Yes, absolutely.

Best-on-best tournaments have always had non-NHL players playing for Finland/Sweden/Czech/Russia. This wouldn't be some crazy new thing. Like, when the Czech Republic won Gold at the 1998 Olympics they had 12 non-NHL players on their 23-man roster.

David Pastrnak etc. playing in this tournament on a team that has Stan Svozil on the 3rd D pairing >>>>>> Pastrnak not playing at all.

Dawg, I’m gonna go ahead and tell people what and what not to watch whenever I please. In fact I was just in the Avs forum pleading with them to not watch the Rockies in May or June.

This is going to be slightly more interesting than that awful olympics where everyone lost their minds over a kid potting a few against guys who teach ice skating in uganda
 
I'm going to put a timer on for slightly after folks see Makar, McDavid, Crosby, and Mackinnon playing together for the first time, so I can watch them migrate from this thread to being obsessed with the tournament.

Am not interested in it either. Think it is stupid and gimmicky to have it in the middle of regular season.

Someone should do a mainboard poll. Going through 25+ pages of sentiments is too much LOL
 
I'll watch for sure cos it's a break from the monotony of an 82 GAME SEASON. Seriously wtf do we need 82 games for like you know who's good enough to make the playoffs by game 60-70 outside of the teams who squeeze in at the end and probably aren't good enough to win the cup anyways. There's so many f***ing teams and players and games anymore and fan viewership is down too cos people are tired of the same shit over and over again in Colin Campbell's NHL.

Maybe a few years ago, Crosby should not be on the 1st and maybe not even the 2nd line for Canada and he shouldn't be wasted on the wing with McDavid or vice-versa. He's still a great centre but there are far more entertaining players in the league than him to watch nowadays.

I would get the excitement of watching Crosby with McDavid if they were both in their primes, but I don't get why some people are so excited about watching a past his prime Crosby with McDavid.
 
I am not interested but will watch because I love hockey. No Russia sucks bc they are good. It will be fun to see Hughes with Mathews but this just feels like an all star game instead of the Olympics
 
Im interested and going. This is the All Star game essentially and a warmup for the Olympics. I do wish they let Russia play and then a World team of Leon, Anze, Stutzle, etc.

The prices are atrocious though. Huge fail NHL there.

The world teams is what takes the passion out of it. If you have most playing for their country and then a random world team, I think that's silly. Top 8 countries would've been cool but regardless. Can't wait to see all the lads suit up for Team Canada.
