Who else has very little interest in the Four Nations tournament?

No interest at all. It’s a gimmick.

I doubt players actually care…
Canadian and American guys probably doesn't care, i think Finnish players enjoy it a lot. Dunno about Swedes.

That said, Czechs should definetly be in. I definetly understand why Russia isn't in, but obviously it makes this tournament less interesting. As an European i'm used to these international breaks, although those games are meaningful. If you take it just as an exhibition, i guess it would be fun to watch all the best guys together after a long while.

I was into this until I saw prices to go. WTF are they thinking?! Championship $310+ for junk seats. USA/CAN $500+ Canadian.

The Russia thing is dumb imo. Theyre playing in our league still as individuals and we dont care, but the second they get together as a group, we exile them? Name them Vuldemort or something and let them all play.

no interest in a tournament that only selects 4 countries to vie for a title...that is absolutely ridiculous.

Beats the all star game . But easily the least interesting NHL international tourney to date.

Having said that.......As a Team Canada fan I hope the USA go with Hellebuyck. That guy is the biggest choker in big games.
The Canucks will blow him out.

I wish the USA-Canada game was in Boston instead of Montreal. With our rat Marchand on Canada and Florida's rat Tkachuk on USA it might set up an interesting storyline. I wouldn't know which rat to root for

It's gonna be the last time. Some star gets injured and misses playoff for these useless games

No Russia, no Olympics, no C for McDavid, don't give a fxxx about this waste of time glorified scrimmage between countries.

I think it’s gonna be great. Players wouldn’t go if they weren’t going to compete. You can’t put on your national sweater and not be compelled to give it 100% effort. Not even humanly possible.

Seems like a shit idea to have your best players play 3-4 meaningless games while the rest of the league is on vacation. But maybe the NHL is trying to make some sort of point about NHLPA always pressing for the Olympics which in the owners eyes is basically the same thing only without them cashing in on it. Sort of an if you can do it for the Olympics then you better do it for the people that own you.

Anyway, I don't plan on watching but will somehow get sucked into it like the last WC farce.

I can only guess what it this thing is based on the event title, and have no idea when its happening, probably this season based on the topic being started?

So count me in(or out), or whatever.

I don't have much interest, I'll watch the final in Canada is in it, hopefully to beat the Americans so I can see them cry.

NHL fans have been bitching about the lack of genuine international play involving the best players in the world for a decade now. And now that it's here...
You guys will always find something to complain about.

And before you bring up the lack of Russia, even if this tournament was expanded beyond four teams, Russia wouldn't be involved for geopolitical reasons. Whether they are or aren't involved in the Olympics is not up to the IIHF or NHL.

A IIHF/NHL event (essentially a World Cup) is the best way forward for a pinnacle international hockey tournament - not the Olympics. Look at Soccer. This 2025 event could help start to pave the way for that.
