If they sign Goodrow, I don't see him on the 4th line.
you went with....
Laf - Zib - KK
Bread - Strome - Krav
Kreider - Chytil - Gauthier
Barron - Goodrow - Blackwell/Rooney
I'd go here instead...
1. Sell high on Buch
if no Drury + 2021 1st from CAR
then, no more Howden [orig throw in to this deal], so
w/Blackwell taken in exp dr
Rooney
=
Buch + Rooney + Rykov
for
elc Broberg + Oil 2022 3rd + 2023 4th
2. Strome to highest bidder, again futures pls
[we are dealing vets to create cap for long term deals (cheaper in long run) for Shesty + Fox, and then elcs-> rfas]
3. Keep Zib to start, tho expect he will not go short term and no nmc, so he will also likely get dealt during the season.
I roll with...
KK - Krav - Panarin
Laf - Chytil - Gauthier
Kreider - Zib - Barron
Lindgren - Goodrow - Cuylie
ld rd
Robertson* Fox
KAM Trouba
Broberg Nils L
until dealt, Jones gets mins as reserve D and W
cup o coffee to Schneider
* Robbie is bigger version of Lindy.
I am aware of the criticism of Krav at C.
There is no certain basis to insist one way or the other this experiment, with definitive certainty, works or does not.
I continue to insist there is no reason to then at least not try.
I am protecting Goodrow. If he is not protected, Seattle has a three day window to negotiate with him. They could be doing the bidding of any team in the league.
This is the guy I wanted. Why take a chance of screwing its up?
1. Goodrow has to like NYR, perhaps not exclusively, but like nonetheless, as a young club on the upswing w/ability to make a few moves and have solid cap position ahead of the curve. That is important to roster which is important to competitiveness.
2. If Goodrow wants to test the market for whatever reason, he just says no until he is ufa, thus cutting out the middleman of SEA.
I think he is savy enough to read betw the lines
no need to waste an F protection slot.
