2. MacKinnon
3. McDavid
4. Matthews
5. Panarin

Didn’t realise I should rank so:

2. McDavid
3. Matthews
4. Hellebucyk
5. Panarin

Q Hughes is on pace for 102 pts while currently at +34 and turning a dumpster team last year into a team contending for the presidents trophy.

Anyone that doesnt have him on their top 3 is simply not paying attention.

1. Kucherov
2. Mackinnon
3. Miller
4. Helleybuyck
5. Matthews

Miller is fantastic but he isnt even the MVP of the Canucks.

Hughes has lots of players on his team also having excellent seasons. Demko, Pettersson, Miller, Hronek, Boeser.

I have a hard time placing him above MacKinnon, McDavid, Hellebuyck, and Kucherov. I could swap him with Pasta as my #5.

I really want to say
Mack
Hughes
Pettersson

But can there be 2 Hart Trophy candidates from the same team getting top 3 votes? I could have Kuch in there but I am not convinced TB will make the playoffs

I know it's not a "multi-player" award - but if it was the real answer is Swayman/Ullmark.

Holy shit would it be rough this season in Boston without them.

Outside of that, I think everyone has hit on the obvious candidates for top 7 or so that will falll out at the end.

The Hart trophy is a results trophy.

And I'm sure McDavid will shoot up the rankings as the 2nd half of the season is played.
Voter fatigue could be setting in though haha
But right now I wouldn't give it to him.

1) Mackinnon
2) Kucherov (only if Tampa makes playoffs)
a tie for 3rd Pasternak (plays a lesser important position but has less help) and Q.Hughes (Incredible offence and defence and impacts the game more then an elite winger but has more help)
5) Matthews

Hughes is above McDavid right now.
He and Helly are roughly the same imo.
We will see by the end of the season.
McDavid at best right now might sneak into fifth spot.

So we're all just gonna write the same names in various different orders?
I left out kuch and I’m surprised so many are putting him in there and ranking him high.

He’s on a team that is gonna be fighting for, and imo not gonna make the playoffs and he’s not great 200 feet. He’s also been caught in points, has games in hand on players close behind him and is gonna get passed by McDavid….like everyone else lol

I also am one of the only ones to put Matthews in the top 5 while he’s on pace for 67 goals, 99pts, a good 200 foot C and leafs will make the playoffs comfortably.

Hart is practically forwards award. Hughes has no chance if he finishes 3rd in scoring on his own team.
Josi finished 6th in his 96 points season while being best scorer on his own team.
