Alright, shooting my shot. Based on what we know and some leaks, this is around what I think the Stadium Series uniform will look like:

2023SSMockup.png

Couple caveats here.... Something tells me the helmet will be chrome red. Seems like that's been the case with a lot of SS games lately, and we're playing in Carter-Finley where NCSU has been known to go with chrome red lids on big night games. Makes too much sense. As for the stripe pattern on the socks, it mirrors that of the arms. Could make for an interesting look.

I like weird shit. Do the chrome.

Waddell was on the Jeff Marek show today. Marek brought up our aesthetics and how we like to change things up. Waddell was very careful but made it sound like the org really does want to move away from the swirl logo more and more. He also mentioned one of the drivers behind the red helmets is they are negotiating with a helmet advertiser they thought looked best on red helmets.

If I had to guess.....

Lenovo or Bojangles.

And I figured the old logo was on the way out. The new one was rolled out when Dundon took over and its very much his stamp on the brand, so I'm not shocked to see him wanting to pivot that direction.

Looked best on red helmets, or best on RED HATS?

Hmmmmmmmm.....

Love it. Tho hope we skip the chrome trend

Alright, I tweaked my template to fit the current Adidas template so that it can be a bit more accurate... Based on that, this is what I have for the SS mockup:

2023SSMockup.png

Its basically the same as before, just with the current neck treatment and added the stitching for the fight strap on the back of the jersey. That actually helps keep everything in proportion.

Now, based on this, I spent a little time mocking up what I would like to see the Canes migrate to in 2023-24 as our full time home and away sets.... What do you think?

2023Redesign.png

While it looks familiar, it actually combines design elements from many of our looks. The striping pattern is from the red jerseys we wore last year. The black hem stripe on the pants is what we wore 1999-2006. The numbers are what we wore until 2013. The shoulder patch on the white is from our current aways, and on the home is from the ReverseRetro from this year. The neck treatment is from the 25th anniversary jersey. And then I copied over the stripe and neck patterns to the away, neither of which we've ever used on the away.

The chevron formed by the gray stripes points one way from the front and the other way from the back on your template.
.....yeah.....

Its not a chevron.

You can see it from the images that leaked a couple years ago.... the grey stripe starts at the armpit on the back...

And then angles down over the remainder of the arm...

That is hard to capture on the template, but I tried my best.

Ah, had never seen that side view and always assumed it was an homage to the 2009 blacks.

Love em. Only thing I would change is doing black and red flags on the waist. Everything else though is perfect

I get it, but I just love the sublimated treatment. From up close you can see the details and see the flag pattern, but from a distance it blends and just looks like a red stripe, which actually helps with a striping pattern as busy as ours is. It gives the jersey an extra bit of character that you see up close.

Here's something I threw together for fun....

What if, instead of hosting the Stadium Series where teams go with a futuristic look, we were hosting the Winter Classic, where teams go with an old school classic uniform....

Well....

Seems boring to me in the current form, but I see some potential.
So my thinking on this would be to include the old timey stitching within the numbers and the crest logo, similar to what the Pens just did.

PITTSBURGH-PENGUINS-2023-WINTER-CLASSIC-UNIFORM.jpg

Also, in an ideal state, the crest logo would be made of felt, and not tackle twill, and the flags on the C would be chain stitched., like the logo on the Phillies uniforms...

Those are things that I cannot reproduce on these pictures, but what I would want to see in an ideal state to give it that extra touch.

Those details would be fun. It just lacks a little pop to me. I like some of the elements you have there though.

I liked this version better. I don’t like how they added the grey/black in the striping on the arms.

That said I still find the jersey awesome and probably my most favorite Canes jersey of all time.
Yeah, the older pictures of the SS jersey look different than the newer pictures IMO. I love the older pictures/older design. The newer design is a little more bland looking IMO, but it's still solid.

Right now I'm wishing they kept the old/original design. We still have to wait for it to be officially unveiled though. Not to mention see the players wear them on the ice.

The red one has more definition / contrast. Although I like the idea of the black ones better.

I know we have struggled with the whole C H thing before. Would a much larger C on the jersey with 2 hurricanes flags in the middle work? Basically a thin white line separates the flags. It would loosely look like an H inside the c?

Maybe thinner gray stripes towards the top and bottom of the C. Which wouldn’t interfere with the numbering on the back either.

I like that look. Do you see any good opportunities for a tiny splash more of red in the previous take?
In that form, I like trying to hold back on the red to make the uses of it pop more. I tried using it with either of the stripes and anything more really makes it lose that pop. Maybe on the rear numbers, I could try that.

You've given me a couple good ideas I can try tomorrow.
