Value of: Which teams are willing to give Mitch Marner $13M, 7 years?

Whatever you say. If he leaves promise by the end of next season he is getting his props on the mains. Also wasn't the main point of my comment.
I mean I'm sure idiots will bend over backwards to praise his regular seasons like many Leaf fans do now. But people will still rightfully dunk on his playoff failure to live up to the cap hit as long as it continues.

What was your point then, if not to whine on behalf of poor baby Marner?

That seeing fans of teams stuck in endless rebuilds are scoffing at the chance to add Marner for free as if he sucks when he would be their best player and probably get them to the playoffs is laughable.

The Leafs haven't exactly accomplished much more with this core than the teams stuck in a perpetual rebuild that you're trying to dunk on.. Unless you consider first round exits and 2nd place division finishes as an accomplishment

Anyone who conflates being a yearly basement team with being the same as a yearly playoff team can safely have their opinion discarded.

Anyone who sits high and mighty winning one playoff round in 20 years as if it's some sort of accomplishment can have their opinion discarded.

Yes high and mighty for saying shitty teams shouldn't turn their nose up at free great players. Clown

Like how you pretend to be a Leafs fan to shit on them lol. Sad. Anyways, bye.
The worse they do, the more likely they are to trade these loser players and build a proper contender. This group is embarrassing, and what's sad is the delusion in thinking they'll actually change after 9 years

It's more than just one series and has been talked about for a while now. Sure he had 14 pts in 11 games but look at the game logs, 11 pts in the first five games then 3 in the last six. He's been under a PPG in five of eight playoffs which isn't that good for a player of his caliber

I viewed a few of these games, and it seemed looked the whole team collapsed. If you're going to start throwing individual players under the bus, start with the captains and veteran leadership.

The problems in Toronto after not Matthews, Nylander, and Marner. The team doesn't have a proper set of top for defenders. They're constantly relying on band aids on defence and in net.

They need more grit and determination up front, but chase guys like Kadri, Bunting and Hyman out of town.

The Tavares contract, that made the team too contract top heavy up front and forced the team to let a lot of their depth go, was bad.

Seems like the problems in Toronto after obvious to everyone, except those in Toronto.

If you're talking about the fans, trust me, we know where the problems are in Toronto. We've been discussing them daily for the past 8 or so years.

The problems start with the overpaid 4 when they've collectively taken up roughly half the cap. Even more so when each one of them underperforms in the playoffs relative to their cap hit, while their contract peers step up.

Kadri and Bunting are shitbags that constantly took stupid penalties. But losing Hyman was indeed a massive L by Dubas.

But ultimately you can't afford much for depth when you pay 4 soft, inconsistent forwards that much money.

yea definitely Dubas that's not even a question haha
I legitimately think he would. Regardless of whether it's wise, Dubas and pens management want to take one more swing. He's clearing cap and acquiring assets right now, but next year or the year after they're going for it. An impact winger is needed and Marner fits. The bigger need is defense though.

Interesting. So Kopitar would also not be very good either since he’s only been ppg in 3 out of 9 playoffs?

They all share blame because they all underperform when it comes to the playoffs. You said all the talk about Marner was based on one series last year when his underperforming in the playoffs has been talked about for years.
