I predict Utah or Seattle
Yup, it's really starting to bite us in the ass this year. But what can ya do?True
Probably not even close.Probably the Devils
JJ Abrams is going to replace Drury as GM, trade Panarin and Kreider, and give Marner the same contract as Panarin but plus the difference. He's going to then sign Trent Frederic to a seven year deal with a NTC, hire some "whip smart" coach, and MSG will have lens flare.I will start with the Rangers, who else?
I said hilarious. not practical.Getting more top heavy is not the route the Oilers should take. With Bouchard and Draisaitl raises next year, the Oilers are already going to get to fill out their roster with league minimum contracts. How on Earth do they afford another $13 million contract.
not unlikely that no team will give him $13M, or $12 or even $11I will start with the Rangers, who else?
Elite players alone don't win you cups. Players outperforming their cap hits win you cups. Players like Panarin and Marner have never done that on their 8 figure cap hits.I'm not saying Rangers should, but elite players cost money. Also, you have to make playoff to advance. Unless you have drafted players, it's hard to find UFA, elite talent that won't cost.
Marner the playoff ghost would be laughed at anywhere. Leafs victim complex strikes againGotta laugh at fans cringing over their team unable to sniff the playoff adding Marner as if he is so terrible when he would be their best player by far. They only don't like him because he is a Leaf. If he did leave, suddenly Marner would get respect on HFboards that is for sure.
Would look great beside Larkin and Raymond, wings need goal scoring so badly
I don’t see SY giving him that much money.I could definitely see this
I’d be scared if a team signed him to such a contract. Screams bust

He has 6 goals in his last 37 playoff games and 11 in 57 games. Not exactly screaming success. He's got 50 points in 57 playoff games. Not quite as good as his regular season stats, but hardly a bust. I think any of the big cap space teams could do a lot worse than signing Marner.
Yup even if it's an overpay he's staying. MLSE has final word and their stars bring them too much revenueHe will re-sign in Toronto, what’s the point of this thread?
Don’t be scared. Embrace the failure.I’d be scared if a team signed him to such a contract. Screams bust
He sucks.Gotta laugh at fans cringing over their team unable to sniff the playoff adding Marner as if he is so terrible when he would be their best player by far. They only don't like him because he is a Leaf. If he did leave, suddenly Marner would get respect on HFboards that is for sure.
Given Pittsburgh doesn't have much in the way of prospects and their stars are like 40 it may be what they need to do tbh.yea definitely Dubas that's not even a question haha
It's more than just one series and has been talked about for a while now. Sure he had 14 pts in 11 games but look at the game logs, 11 pts in the first five games then 3 in the last six. He's been under a PPG in five of eight playoffs which isn't that good for a player of his caliberPeople are really basing his lack of playoff ability on a single series from last season's playoffs. He had 14 points in 11 games the year before.
Nylander, Matthews, and Tavares were also below a ppg last playoffs, with Tavares having 2 points in seven games. Matthews was injured and Boston shut the whole team down offensively. Marner became the scapegoat.
Toronto it is then.*7 years. Toronto is the only team that could give him 8.
