Honestly, I think Forsberg from that list. I know it's cliched.

I've seen Marner and Matthews in quite a few Game Sevens. Frustration ensues.

I took Forsberg as well but thought bout Crosby as well.

Also although I'd prefer goalies in a separate poll Roy and Hasek have to be in consideration.

people do a lot of recency bias and McDavid was bad in game 7, so that's what sticks.
Crosby's game 7 stats aren't good either, but nobody remembers them.


Just for the record
Crosby has 2g and 6p in 8 game 7. 3(both goals) of which came in just 1 game.
McDavid has 1g and 2p in 4games all of which came in 1 game

why is matthews and Marner even on the list. Neither has done anything in the playoffs. Everyone else on the lists has had some type of playoff success even if they dont have a cup.

If "other" really means anyone, you of course take Gretzky #1. Insane track record in playoffs of stepping up huge. Only other name worth considering is Mario Lemieux at #1, who also is a great option. They're clear top 2.

Orr is #3. Maybe you take him first if you like for how good he is - I just think his playoff record is slightly behind the other 2.

Comparing raw stats is pretty misleading. A significant portion of Roy's career was in the 1980s when the average sv% was much lower due to the higher scoring era.

Poll lists prime Crosby as an option, not 2009 Crosby.

Prime Crosby didn't get many games in his peak, but he for sure would have blew out 2009 Crosby.

Forsberg came up in a similar "winner take all game 7" poll about a year ago. So some digging was done and he feasted early in series, but wasn't actually all that impressive for game 7s.
