I think 8x7.5 with Florida would be a discount. If market is 7x9, he wouldn't be leaving too much on the table. The 8th year is a powerful advantage.Bennett is only getting paid $4.425/year, and the previous contract he received $2.55. Bennett has never gotten paid, and wasted a lot of time on the 4th line in Calgary. This is his only chance to cash in. He'd be really dumb to sign a discount or a short term contract.
people haven't been used to it for several years, so many still think 7m is first line dollars, when 3rd liners are regularly getting 5+Every big contract is this summer is going to blow peoples minds because the cap is going up a lot and people are just not used to it anymore.
A lot of internal caps are going to get blown to smithereens. If Montreal adds anyone, the internal, individual Suzuki/Caufield cap is gone.people haven't been used to it for several years, so many still think 7m is first line dollars, when 3rd liners are regularly getting 5+

He's well connected. Are you well connected? Did you play in the NHL?Need to stop thinking Kypreos has any level of credibility. He's just talking to get clicks
Treliving, then for the next 7 years we'll see Leafs fans doing the mental gymnastics defending Bennett.Who is going to give Bennett the Kevin Hayes market adjusted deal? That one is going to hurt.
Agree with this. One of the teams missing out on Marner is going to pivot to Ehlers and pay a lot.Ehlers is my guess. Someone will give him $9
Nope, I doubt it. Brock was available for free in trade not long ago and nobody wanted him. It wouldn't surprise me if he ends up back in Van at 7.5 over 6.This thread is made for Brock Boeser.. someone will offer him a gross contract.
Doug McLean called Tocchet leaving Van months before it happened.I'm sure he still talks to guys that he played with, during his time, who might be in management situations. But in terms of trade rumors or what have you, he's not reliable at all. That and one of his big "sources" was Doug MacLean who is not as connected as he once was with most of his peers having retired as well.
