Comparing 2012 to 2014 is like comparing a documentary to a horror flick. In 2012 it was clinical, few ups, few downs. The amount of times any of sweated we could count easily on one hand. We just picked teams apart and likely if we had a bit more focus after being up 3-0 every series we could have rolled through the playoffs even quicker if you can imagine that.
2014 was like being chased through the woods by Jason. It was blood everywhere. I'm sure the incidents of heart attacks in California rose. There was more plot twists than an M Night Shyamalan movie. That run was so Hollywood, I expected Luc to hit the ice and score the cup winner.
So I guess it comes down to what do you like? A) Your first, B) Clinical detail (for the most part) C) Thrills, mayhem and plot twists.
While for me 2012 was the best simply because I could remember that smug feeling of seeing 24 years of frustration lift from my shoulders as the clock wound down, that burden of being "a Kings fan" going away. That said, the only player I really remember in 2012 was Quick. In 2014, it seemed like there was a whole host of guys that just stood out. Mr. Game Seven, Jazz Hands, Gabby. It was one hell of a sequel.
